The National Assembly will meet in February 2025 to amend laws related to streamlining the apparatus.

(NLDO)- According to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man , a number of laws related to streamlining and reorganizing the apparatus will be considered and amended by the National Assembly.

On December 10, the National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) opened its 40th session to consider and decide on the addition of a number of draft laws and resolutions to the 2025 Law and Ordinance Development Program; consider and approve the 2025 Work Program of the NASC and a number of other important contents.

In his opening speech, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that during the two working days, the National Assembly Standing Committee will summarize and draw experience from the 8th session and give initial opinions on preparations for the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly.

Regarding legislative work, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly will consider and approve the work programs for 2025. Along with that, consider and approve the draft Ordinance on Litigation Costs.

According to the National Assembly Chairman, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider the proposal to add 6 draft laws to the 2025 Law and Ordinance Development Program, including: the draft Bankruptcy Law (amended); the draft Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents (amended); the draft Law on Personal Data Protection; the draft Press Law (amended); the draft Lawyers Law (amended); and the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on exemption from agricultural land use tax.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also emphasized that, as planned, at the end of February 2025, the National Assembly will meet to amend and supplement a number of articles of the Laws related to the work of streamlining and reorganizing the state apparatus such as the Law on Organization of the National Assembly (amended), the Law on Organization of the Government (amended), the Law on Organization of Local Government (amended)...

Regarding the immediate tasks, the National Assembly Chairman requested relevant agencies to urgently prepare conditions to immediately implement the Laws passed by the 8th session. At the same time, it is necessary to urgently complete plans, projects, and amend laws to carry out innovation, streamline the organization, and operate effectively and efficiently as required.

At this 40th session, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly will also consider the arrangement and establishment of district and commune-level administrative units for the 2023-2025 period of Ninh Binh province and financial and budgetary issues.

Regarding finance and budget, there are contents on allocating the central budget estimate in 2024 for compensation costs in product consumption of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical project; supplementing the central budget's science and technology expenditure budget in 2024; assigning and adjusting the medium-term public investment plan of the central budget for the period 2021 - 2025 of ministries, central agencies and localities.

At the meeting, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee will also give opinions on the draft Decree regulating the establishment, management and use of the Investment Support Fund.
