Tourist activities in Ha Long Bay have returned to normal after storm No. 3.

In addition, the Ha Long Bay Management Board has mobilized maximum human resources, equipment, and means of the Board and agencies, organizations, and communities (Border Guard Command, Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, organizations, individuals operating tourism services on the bay, and volunteers to participate in collecting trash and picking up trash on the foot of the islands of Ha Long Bay).

From September 14-23, 1,127 personnel and 301 vehicles were mobilized to collect garbage from styrofoam buoys and bamboo rafts floating on Ha Long Bay, and at the same time collect garbage from styrofoam buoys and rafts drifting to the foot of islands and sandbanks on Ha Long Bay; The total amount of garbage collected was 643m3 of waste (mainly bamboo and styrofoam buoys) and 94 aquaculture rafts.

Mr. Vu Kien Cuong, Head of Ha Long Bay Management Board said: “The Board continues to increase human resources, equipment, and means to collect waste generated by the impact of storm No. 3 as well as other types of waste in Ha Long Bay to clean up waste at tourist attractions and the entire heritage area; Strengthen patrols and environmental monitoring in the above areas and along the coast of Ha Long Bay to promptly detect and handle violations, areas, and waste gathering points for collection and treatment.

After the peak period of garbage collection and cleaning of Ha Long Bay, tourist attractions on Ha Long Bay have been cleaned and sanitized to ensure welcoming tourists. A large amount of garbage floating in the waters, at the foot of the islands at the routes and tourist attractions has been collected and treated.

International tourists visit Ha Long Bay.

However, Ha Long Bay has a large area, many rocky islands, and complex hydrometeorological conditions, making it difficult to collect waste and clean up the environment of Ha Long Bay.

In some coastal areas of Ha Long Bay such as Tuan Chau - Dai Yen area and Quang Yen area, there are still bamboo rafts and foam buoys washed ashore by the waves.

Although the authorities are still mobilizing forces to collect and clean up, due to the large amount of waste generated, the authorities have not completed the collection, so there is still a potential risk of spreading waste to the Ha Long Bay Heritage area.
