Since the beginning of the year, Quang Ninh province has attracted more than 2 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI). Currently, Quang Ninh is in the leading group of the country; of which, there are 29 newly granted investment registration certificates for projects worth 1,651.09 million USD and 20 projects with increased capital worth 217.41 million USD.

The province has also attracted domestic and non-budgetary investment of VND 28,310 billion, equivalent to 46% of the annual plan. The Provincial People's Committee issued Plan 240/KH-UBND dated October 21, 2024 to support private sector enterprises to operate sustainably in Quang Ninh province until 2025.

In 2024, Quang Ninh chose the working theme of "Improving the quality of economic growth; developing culture and people rich in Quang Ninh identity" and aiming to attract about 3 billion USD of FDI capital.

Investment promotion activities continue to be actively and effectively implemented by the province. The province has received and worked with many delegations of investors to study the investment environment in Quang Ninh such as the Joint Venture of YNC Joint Stock Company and Greenlink Da Nang Joint Stock Company; Greater Bay Area Trade and Economic Promotion Association; Bgrim B.Grimm Power Company (Vietnam)... to study investment in wind power projects.

The province also coordinated to welcome and work with the delegation of Fujian province (China); the Korean Greyhound Association (KGA), Korea to learn about the project to build the Ha Long international sports and entertainment complex. At the same time, it attended and spoke about the investment environment at the meeting with Korean investors organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in Hanoi, exchanging and providing information about the project calling for investment to representatives of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and 20 typical enterprises from Seoul city, Korea and Vietnamese enterprises.

Quang Ninh province continues to adjust and supplement the list of investment attraction projects in Quang Ninh province towards 2025; build a list of projects calling for investment and encouraging FDI attraction in Quang Ninh province in the period of 2024-2030. The province also coordinates with the Provincial Business Association to implement investment promotion activities, improve the investment environment and enhance the PCI and DDCI competitiveness indexes in 2024.

In 2024, Quang Ninh strives to maintain a double-digit growth rate for the 10th consecutive year. To achieve this goal, Quang Ninh Provincial Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang requested that from now until the end of the year, all levels, sectors and localities must focus highly and make determined efforts to complete the targets and objectives for the whole year of 2024 at the highest level; in which, there must be solutions to support and promote economic sectors with a large proportion, especially the coal industry and some areas that still have room.

Looking towards 2025, Quang Ninh Provincial Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang requested to research and select the working theme for next year with the main focus on creating a socio-economic breakthrough in accordance with the Central's direction: Socio-economic development is the center; Party building is the key; cultural development is the foundation; ensuring national defense and security is essential and regular.

Quang Ninh will consider and focus on removing bottlenecks and obstacles of key projects and important works being implemented in the province; promote digital economic development and digital transformation; review existing specific mechanisms and policies of Van Don Economic Zone, proactively report and propose to the Central Government to allow Quang Ninh to build new specific mechanisms and policies for the economic zone suitable to the new situation.

Since the beginning of the year, Quang Ninh has had 1,501 newly established enterprises, an increase of 8.1% over the same period, with registered capital reaching 16,738 billion VND; 638 enterprises have registered to resume operations, bringing the total number of enterprises operating in the province to 11,745.
