A business in Quang Ninh province has submitted a document requesting permission to operate a hot air balloon tour service to see Ha Long Bay in Tuan Chau ward, Ha Long city.
Based on the regulations and inspection records of the interdisciplinary inspection team at the site, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the tourism product of sightseeing in Ha Long Bay by hot air balloon (fixed anchor), located at Ngoc Chau Street, Tuan Chau Ward, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, meets all the conditions to ensure operation according to regulations.
At the same time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests that businesses take full responsibility for implementing safety measures when trading in tourism products to see Ha Long Bay by hot air balloon (fixed anchor) according to the provisions of Article 9, Decree No. 168/2017/ND-CP dated December 31, 2017 of the Government and instructions of relevant agencies; and carry out flight contracts in accordance with regulations.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requested relevant departments, branches, localities and units, according to their functions and duties, to be responsible for inspecting and supervising activities of sightseeing in Ha Long Bay by hot air balloon (fixed anchor).
In particular, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requires businesses to publicly post the selling prices of goods and services and the unit's internal regulations according to regulations. Operating time is according to the flight license documents of the Operations Department, the General Staff, the Ministry of National Defense and safety regulations of relevant agencies.
Previously, to see Ha Long Bay from above, visitors had to climb hundreds of stone steps to the top of Bai Tho Mountain. However, the dangerous path up the mountain, the terrain on the top of the mountain has no flat surface, so there are many potential risks, forcing the Ha Long City government to close this beautiful check-in spot for many years. Seeing Ha Long Bay by hot air balloon will be an attractive new product, attracting tourists if the price is reasonable and safety is guaranteed.
