Quang Ngai: Displaying documents and artifacts on "Sea and island cultural heritage"

As part of the series of activities of Quang Ngai Tourism Week 2024, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province coordinated with Ly Son island district to organize an exhibition of documents and images with the theme "Cultural heritage of sea and islands" in 2024, at the Hoang Sa Fleet Exhibition House in charge of Bac Hai, Ly Son island district.

More than 60 typical images and artifacts of the Hoang Sa Soldiers' Commemoration Ceremony and the traditional Four-Spirit Boat Racing Festival are introduced to the people and tourists. The exhibition also introduces to the people and tourists the beauty of the daily life, beliefs, culture, and traditional festivals of the residents of Ly Son Island; the exploitation of the sea, the struggle to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands; and the path of innovation and development of the residents of Ly Son.

The photo of Blowing the U-shaped Conch is very meaningful in the Hoang Sa Soldiers' Commemoration Ceremony and is displayed for visitors to see.

Many images, maps, and documents of Vietnam's Hoang Sa - Truong Sa - Historical and legal evidence help viewers understand more about the history and determination to preserve our ancestors' sovereignty over the sea and islands .

Through the exhibition, the People's Committee of Ly Son district hopes that the images and traditional cultural characteristics of the island district will be known to the people, domestic and international tourists, contributing to promoting tourism development to become a spearhead economic sector, building Ly Son into a center of sea and island tourism. The exhibition will take place from now until April 30.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Loan, a tourist from Long An province, said: “Our Long An delegation also came here to visit Ly Son Island. The delegation also visited the Hoang Sa Team, which manages Bac Hai, where there is an exhibition of our ancestors’ heritage, very meaningful tools for our descendants to understand this heritage. Our delegation was very impressed with Ly Son Island, the scenery is very beautiful.”
