Quang Ngai attracts business investment to realize the goal of 1,500 hectares of safe vegetables

Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee has just developed a Plan to implement the Project on developing safe and concentrated vegetable production areas, ensuring traceability associated with processing and consumption markets by 2030 in the province.
Accordingly, Quang Ngai province aims to strive by 2030 to organize the production of safe, concentrated vegetables, ensuring traceability, reaching an area of about 1,500 hectares, with an output of over 24,000 tons. This vegetable area is mainly produced in the delta districts, such as Binh Son, Son Tinh, Mo Duc... and Ly Son, with concentrated production of garlic (300 hectares) and onions (650 hectares).
Of which, the proportion of vegetable area certified to meet food safety conditions and committed to safe production reaches over 90%; the proportion of safe, concentrated vegetable area, granted a growing area code, ensuring traceability accounts for about 10% or more (localities prioritize the implementation of traceability for typical, regional and strong products of the province); the proportion of vegetable area participating in production linkage reaches over 10%.
Regarding production organization, districts, towns and cities need to determine the scale of safe vegetable production areas, focusing on the Quang Ngai Provincial Planning Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 and other related plans; continue to improve policies to attract businesses to invest in safe vegetable production areas, focusing on; promote the formation of safe vegetable production chains from building growing areas, granting, managing, coding to preserving, preliminary processing, processing and consuming products. At the same time, the province requires synchronous implementation of solutions to support Cooperatives and Cooperative Groups in both breadth and depth and especially focus on supporting the establishment of new and improving the capacity of members of Cooperatives and Cooperative Groups for safe vegetable production to build sustainable linkages between enterprises and vegetable production households...
For vegetable-producing households, Quang Ngai province requires proactively linking with enterprises through Cooperatives and Cooperative Groups to produce vegetables in concentrated areas, associated with building growing area codes, traceability and product consumption; building growing areas that are eligible for codes and ensure traceability; actively participating in training courses, training on science and technology transfer on safe vegetable production processes, vegetable preservation, market knowledge, etc.
Along with that, Quang Ngai province encourages businesses to sign contracts with producers, creating trust between the two parties, closely linking the responsibilities and interests of each party in implementing the contract...
