The report at the Conference stated that over the past 5 years, Quang Ngai province has focused on leading, directing and organizing the dissemination and effective implementation of the movement to celebrate the National Border Defense Day, especially in localities in the coastal border area.
Thereby, the awareness and responsibility of cadres and people on the National Border Defense Day are raised, contributing to raising people's knowledge, improving people's lives, maintaining political security, social order and safety in the coastal border area, consolidating people's trust in the Party and State, strengthening the great national unity bloc; political security, social order and safety are stable, creating a favorable environment and conditions for the task of developing the local socio-economic culture.
Many movements towards the sea and islands have profound political significance and practical effectiveness, creating a combined strength of the entire people and the entire political system in the cause of firmly protecting the sovereignty of the province's sea and island areas.

Through the People's Border Defense Day, the Border Guard of Quang Ngai province has grasped the situation, promptly detected and organized effective combat against all plots and tricks of hostile forces to firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands.
In particular, in the work of preventing and fighting natural disasters, searching and rescuing, and responding to situations when they occur, the Provincial Border Guard is truly a solid support for the government and people, especially people in the coastal border area.
The above results have affirmed that the annual National Border Guard Day has become a festival that encourages the entire population to participate, contributing to mobilizing huge resources to help coastal and island localities of the province overcome difficulties in traffic infrastructure and create favorable conditions for people to develop the economy, stand side by side with the Border Guard to build and protect a strong border.
With the achievements in the cause of building and protecting sovereignty and border security, over the past 5 years, the whole province has had 154 collectives and 265 individuals awarded at all levels.

On the occasion of the 5-year review of the implementation of the National Border Guard Day for the period 2019-2024, the Ministry of National Defense awarded a Certificate of Merit to 1 individual; the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province awarded a Certificate of Merit to 7 collectives and 10 individuals; the Border Guard Command awarded a Certificate of Merit to 2 collectives and 3 individuals; the Provincial Border Guard Command awarded a Certificate of Merit to 12 collectives and 29 individuals; the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities awarded a Certificate of Merit to 41 collectives and 85 individuals.
Speaking at the Conference, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province Dang Van Minh highly appreciated and commended the results that the Border Guard of Quang Ngai province has achieved in organizing and implementing the National Border Day widely and effectively over the past 5 years.

He emphasized that doing a good job in border defense, protecting the sovereignty of seas and islands, and ensuring maritime border security is the responsibility of the entire political system and all people, in which border defense is the main force advising the Party committee and government as well as coordinating with socio-political organizations to perform border defense tasks well.
He requested that the border guards must be more closely connected with the people, so that people's trust, support and assistance are extremely important factors in order to effectively carry out border guard work as well as the National Border Guard Day.
At the same time, coordinate with departments, branches and localities to continue to synchronously deploy the task of combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, promote propaganda and mobilize fishermen to strictly comply with legal regulations in fisheries activities; promptly rescue fishermen who are unfortunately in trouble while working at sea...
