Hand, foot and mouth disease occurs earlier than every year and is increasing at Quang Ngai Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. |
Children admitted to the hospital initially usually only showed symptoms of fever, fussiness, and loss of appetite, but after being admitted to the hospital, the doctors diagnosed the child with hand, foot, and mouth disease, which had complications such as encephalitis and gastritis.
Doctor Tran Dinh Diep, Head of the Department of Intensive Care and Anti-Poisoning, Quang Ngai Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital said: "Complications of hand, foot and mouth disease are the same as in previous years: encephalitis, respiratory failure, circulatory failure, apnea, cardiac arrest, and multiple organ failure."
In many cases, parents are negligent in taking care of their children. When they see that their children have a fever but are still playing and alert, they are not careful and let their children's illness become more serious. Therefore, the most important thing about hand, foot and mouth disease is not finding complications but early detection and timely treatment.
