According to Mr. Thai Viet Tuong - Director of the Department of Education and Training, in recent years, along with socio -economic development, the education and training sector has had many positive changes. The scale of education is increasing, facilities and equipment are being enhanced.

However, compared to the requirements for fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training and the expectations of the people, Quang Nam education and training still faces many difficulties and shortcomings, especially the facilities in high schools are degraded, substandard, and do not meet teaching and learning requirements.

"Therefore, in the coming time, it is necessary to prioritize resources to invest ineducational development, especially investing in building standardization and modernization facilities to effectively implement the policy of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training," said Mr. Tuong.

According to the project, the set goal is to ensure the material conditions for implementing the 2018 general education program, increase the rate of schools meeting national standards, and strive for the rate of high schools meeting national standards level 2 to reach 60% or more by 2030. To achieve these goals, the total provincial budget investment is 1,148 billion VND; of which public investment capital is 816 billion VND, and career capital is 332 billion VND.

According to Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Thao - Deputy Director of the Department of Finance, the Department's viewpoint is to support the project of standardizing schools with the investment spirit of "schools after schools, classes after classes". However, the current concern is that the public investment capital for the period 2026 - 2030 does not have a specific figure, the career resources are limited, so it is very difficult to decide. Moreover, if investing in the education and training sector, it is necessary to cut investment in other sectors because the capital is limited.

After listening to opinions at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan said that it is necessary to issue a policy on investment in high schools with the viewpoint of focusing on investing in high schools systematically and dividing investment into reasonable stages.

“Therefore, the Department of Education and Training continues to take note of comments and complete the project to report to the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council at the June meeting before merging the province for further implementation. Regarding resources, the Department of Finance is requested to study and take the level of public investment in 2025 to complete this project. It is necessary to cut other sectors to prioritize the project,” Mr. Tuan emphasized.
