Quang Nam co-organizes the 5th National Startup Forum in Hanoi

Attending the forum were Mr. Nguyen Mai Duong - Director of the Department of Innovation (Ministry of Science and Technology), Dr. Dinh Viet Hoa - Chairman of the National Startup Association. On the side of Quang Nam province, there were Mr. Phan Thai Binh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of departments, branches, representatives of Tam Ky City People's Committee, Hoi An City People's Committee.

Speaking at the forum, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Thai Binh said that Quang Nam is a province located in the middle of the country, belonging to the Central Key Economic Zone, with a convenient transportation system with the North-South railway, National Highway 1, expressway, coastal road, international sea route, air route with Chu Lai airport, Nam Giang - Dac Ta Ooc international border gate connecting with Laos. Along with that, the seaport system is being invested and upgraded.

Quang Nam is a province with rich potential and strengths in natural conditions, society, cultural traditions and history for socio-economic development; at the same time, it is the heritage center of the Central region - a land with a tradition of innovation, renewal and international integration.

Over the past years, Quang Nam has issued many policies, mechanisms and strategies as well as mobilized all resources to launch a startup program and officially operated a startup ecosystem since 2018 (the 5th locality in the Central Highlands - Central region to officially operate a creative startup ecosystem).

Based on the tradition of innovation and renewal of the homeland, in 2019, the province chose the slogan "Quang Nam - open land for creative startups" and officially operated the open creative startup ecosystem.

In 2020, Quang Nam was selected by the Ministry of Science and Technology to coordinate the startup network in the Central Coast and Central Highlands regions and was recognized as a startup locality by the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). By 2022, Quang Nam had completed all the set targets and objectives, reaching the finish line 3 years ahead of schedule.

In 2023, the province was honored by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a locality that successfully organized TechFest and was honored by the National Startup Association as a dynamic startup locality. In 2024, Quang Nam was selected by the Ministry of Science and Technology as one of 16 provinces/cities to be commended for building a creative startup ecosystem.

Mr. Pham Ngoc Sinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Nam said that Quang Nam has organized 8 TechFests at regional and national levels. Of which, 5 times in the province and 3 times in the capital Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, in 2023, Quang Nam is the first locality to initiate the organization of the Startup Year with a series of international, national, local activities... taking place throughout the year, inspiring and arousing the entrepreneurial spirit and passion for creativity in the whole society.

Many creative startup ideas and projects in Quang Nam have won high prizes in competitions to find Vietnamese startup talents, including the championship. TechFest Quang Nam has been continuously selected by the province as one of the 10 typical socio-economic events in Quang Nam.

Quang Nam co-chairs the 5th National Startup Forum - VietNam Startup 2024 with the spirit, ambition and desire for development. The province will proactively participate in the Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductor and Cross-border E-commerce Technology Exhibition Forum scheduled to take place in June 2025 in Hoi An - World Cultural Heritage, Global Creative City to continue to open up opportunities and promote the development of the startup ecosystem in Quang Nam province.

The 5th National Startup Forum is an opportunity for Quang Nam to continue learning valuable experiences from experts and scientists to build and develop a sustainable startup ecosystem in the province.

With the support and companionship of Central agencies, the National Startup Association, international organizations, the business community, entrepreneurs, and the startup community at home and abroad, Quang Nam is expected to bring many great values, promoting the local role in the new era, the era of national growth.
