On August 6, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dong, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Ba Don town (Quang Binh province) said that in the area, there was a fisherman who had a big catch of tuna after 6 fishing trips, bringing in a revenue of more than 10 billion VND.

That is Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh (born in 1975, in Tan My residential area, Quang Phuc ward, Ba Don town, Quang Binh province). According to Mr. Canh, in the first 6 months of 2023, each trip his boat caught from 30 - 50 tons of tuna and mackerel, earning an income of 1.7 billion VND - 1.9 billion VND per trip, reaching a revenue of more than 10.2 billion VND - 11.4 billion VND.
During these 6 fishing trips, due to favorable weather, Mr. Canh followed the fish flow for a long time, both catching and selling to purchasing ships at sea. He only came ashore to resupply food, add more oil, and add ice. Then, he followed the fish finder and continued fishing.
Because the fish flow at sea is still there, Mr. Canh has shared the catch with other fishing boats and also brought in high income.
As an experienced fisherman, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh shared: "At the beginning of the year, we fish from Da Nang to Vung Tau, in the middle of the year from Quang Binh to Nghe An, and at the end of the year, we fish from Nghe An to Hai Phong. At the beginning of the year, there are many planktons in the Da Nang - Vung Tau area, which attract shrimp and anchovies, from there, many fish species come back so we can catch them. In the middle of the year, planktons appear in Quang Binh and Nghe An. At the end of the year, it is the sea area of Nghe An and Hai Phong."

To date, Mr. Canh's family has 3 large fishing boats (2 wooden 430CV boats and 1 829CV boat). The two wooden fishing boats create jobs for 22 workers; the 829CV fishing boat according to Decree 67 creates jobs for 12 crew members; each trip out to sea, each worker is paid 7 million VND. To detect fish from afar, fisherman Canh has purchased a GPS device to detect fish worth more than 1 billion VND for his boats.
In 2018, Mr. Canh received a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister and in 2021 was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the President.
