Previously, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam was granted a license for Vietjet Air to operate the Dong Hoi-Taipei-Dong Hoi route. In the first phase, from March 31 to October 13, with a total of 26 flights (equivalent to 13 round trips), with flight codes VJ7172 (Dong Hoi-Taipei) and VJ7173 (Taipei-Dong Hoi) operated by A320/A321 aircraft.
Flight VJ7172 (Dong Hoi-Taipei) departs at 12:40 and lands at 15:40 (local time). Flight VJ7173 (Taipei-Dong Hoi) departs at 16:40 and lands at 19:40 (local time).
Each flight carries about 80 passengers, facilitating travel between Quang Binh and the North Central provinces with Taipei City (Taiwan-China); at the same time promoting tourism and trade development between the two sides.
Today's flight marks an important milestone in opening international flights to and from Dong Hoi Airport. Especially after this airport is one of three domestic airports allowing foreigners to enter and exit the country with electronic visas (e-visas) according to Resolution No. 127/NQ-CP of the Government.

A representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Binh said that the Dong Hoi-Taipei flight route not only helps connect people and tourists from Taipei (Taiwan-China) with Quang Binh and the central provinces of Vietnam, but also contributes to promoting the local image to international friends.
Taiwan is one of the potential tourist markets with high demand for nature exploration tourism. Meanwhile, Quang Binh owns the world natural heritage Phong Nha-Ke Bang, an ideal destination.
Besides, exploiting this route is also an important driving force to attract airlines and travel agencies to consider expanding many other international routes to Dong Hoi in the future.
Currently, Dong Hoi Airport is investing in expanding the T2 passenger terminal and parking area to improve passenger service capacity and meet development requirements in the new period.
