– In recent times, all levels and sectors in the province have promoted the organization of photo, music, and painting contests… to promote and introduce beautiful images of the land and people of Lang Son in general and the beauty of Lang Son peach blossoms in particular to domestic and international tourists and friends.
The Jury of the contest for beautiful peach gardens and beautiful peach blossom trees in the year of the Dragon judged the beautiful peach garden in Tan Thanh commune, Van Lang district.
On October 31, 2018, the Provincial People's Committee decided to approve the Project on preserving and developing the value of peach trees and organizing the Lang Son peach blossom festival. Accordingly, from 2018 to present, all levels and sectors in the province have implemented many effective solutions to promote propaganda, promotion, introduction and honoring the value of Lang Son peach blossoms, attracting the attention and participation of agencies, units, enterprises, business households and people of all walks of life in the province in the work of preserving, developing and expanding peach growing models, creating products from peach blossoms, in which the organization of music, poetry and painting competitions on the theme of peach blossoms is of particular interest.
Mr. Phan Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: The value of the peach tree in Lang Son has been determined to include: value in landscape, architecture; cultural - spiritual value; artistic - aesthetic value. On that basis, peach blossoms, peach blossom symbols and activities to promote and exploit the values of peach trees are expressed diversely and effectively. Specifically, in recent times, many music, poetry and painting competitions on the theme of peach blossoms have been organized, contributing to promoting and honoring the value of peach blossoms in Lang Son.
Accordingly, in recent times, all levels and sectors, especially the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, have carried out many activities to encourage and attract musicians and artists inside and outside the province to create works about peach blossoms in Lang Son. In addition to organizing actual compositions in the province, the Literature and Arts Association also sent members to attend composition camps organized by the Central Government and to participate in training seminars organized by the province and the Central Government.
As a son of Lang Son, artist Nguyen Son Tung, Photography Association, Provincial Literature and Arts Association has spent a lot of time and passion creating many photo works about peach blossoms and the beauty of Lang Son ethnic groups with peach blossoms, published in domestic and international newspapers and magazines. Artist Son Tung said: Although I am busy with work, I still spend time creating beautiful photos and regularly send my works to be published in domestic and foreign newspapers and magazines, especially many of my works about peach blossoms have been published in Lang Son Literature and Arts Magazine. Currently, I am participating in creative campaigns of the Literature and Arts Association to create more beautiful works about peach blossoms.
In order to encourage the creation of peach blossom artworks, in recent years, the organization of competitions focusing on promoting peach blossoms of Lang Son has been of interest to relevant levels and sectors in the province. Typically, from 2018 to now, many competitions have been jointly organized by the Provincial Literature and Arts Association and a number of agencies and units such as: "Impression of Lang Son" photo and video clip contest and exhibition; Lang Son City People's Committee launched the 2021 Lang Son City Tourism Photo Contest; Songwriting contest about Lang Son city - "Peach blossom city", "Songwriting contest about Lang Son" in 2021. In particular, since 2023, the Literature and Arts Association has organized the "Peach blossom painting contest of Lang Son spring Quy Mao", thereby attracting 1,674 works, in 2024 the contest continued to be launched and attracted more than 2,200 works of authors participating in the contest.

From the competitions, many outstanding works have won high prizes by the authors. Typically, in the field of photography, there is the work "Spring Garden of Lang" by author Chu Minh (promoting the beauty of the peach garden in Quang Lac commune). In the field of music, there are the works "Sac dao Xu Lang", "Lung linh sac dao, toa sang, vong xa" by author Ho Trong Tan; "Coi nguon hoa dao Xu Lang" by author Vy Nuoc; "Tinh em hoa dao Xu Lang" by author Ngo Si Tung. In the field of painting, there are works such as Peach blossoms in my village, and Spring branches in Lang Son by Hoang Nhat Quang... According to incomplete statistics, there are currently nearly 5,000 works about peach blossoms in Lang Son, diverse in genres including painting, photography, music, poetry... Of which, there are more than 3,000 paintings, more than 1,000 photography works and hundreds of music, poetry, and prose works about peach blossoms in Lang Son.
Hoang Nhat Quang, a 6A1 student at Le Quy Don Primary and Secondary School, Lang Son City, shared: Last year, he participated in the "Xu Lang Peach Blossom Painting Contest Spring of Quy Mao 2023" and won second prize with the work "Xu Lang, a branch of spring". This year, he continues to participate in the "Xu Lang Peach Blossom Painting Contest Spring of Giap Thin 2024" with a work on the theme of peach blossoms in his hometown.
From the above reality, it can be seen that the art creation contests about peach blossoms of Lang Son have contributed to encouraging the local people to become "Ambassadors" to promote and spread the image of peach blossoms of Lang Son to friends and tourists from near and far.
Mr. Nguyen Phuc Ha, Chairman of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association said: To continue promoting and spreading the beautiful image of peach blossoms of Lang Son, in the coming time, the association will continue to encourage and motivate artists to promote the creation of literary and artistic works about the land and people of Lang Son in general and about peach blossoms of Lang Son in particular. At the same time, continue to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and sectors of the province to organize many creative campaigns, actual creations as well as competitions to contribute to promoting the development of literary and artistic creation activities in social life.
