On December 3, 2024, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) organized Asia Day – an annual event bringing together Austrian businesses and partners from the Asia-Pacific region. The event attracted nearly 900 participants, including 750 representatives from Austrian companies, along with Austrian trade counselors, embassies of Asian countries in Austria and international economic experts.
The event was attended by Austrian Minister of Economy and Labor Martin Kocher, WKO Vice President Amelie Gross, and a large number of Austrian and international business representatives. Vietnam stood out with the third largest number of registered participants, after Austria and Germany, surpassing both Korea and India, demonstrating strong business interest in the Austrian market.

At the event, the Vietnam Trade Office in Austria organized an exhibition booth, introducing agricultural products and typical goods such as rice, Dalat mushrooms, Habeco beer, coconut milk, health care products, fashion, and handicrafts. The booth attracted great attention from the Austrian business community and international partners.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria, Mr. Vu Le Thai Hoang, attended the presentation on Vietnam’s economy and thematic discussions, and interacted with Austrian companies. He also had a working session with the Austrian Minister of Economic Affairs and Labor, Vice President of WKO and Austrian Trade Counselor in Vietnam. WKO leaders highly appreciated the potential for cooperation with the Asia-Pacific region, stating that Vietnam and Southeast Asia will receive a “second wave” of investment from Austria in areas such as manufacturing technology, renewable energy, healthcare, infrastructure and logistics.
The event also provided an opportunity for WKO to launch an online platform (www.asiaday.at), which facilitates information exchange and business cooperation. In a challenging global trade environment, it is essential to promote business connections between Austria and Asia-Pacific countries.
WKO Vice President Amelie Gross emphasized that Vietnam's active participation contributed to the success of the program, and affirmed her desire for long-term cooperation with Vietnam through future trade and investment initiatives. As one of the most dynamic and potential markets in the region, Vietnam is expected to continue to be an attractive destination for Austrian businesses in the coming time.
