Promoting tourism through cultural events.

Việt NamViệt Nam13/04/2024

Organizing cultural events is recognized as a crucial factor in introducing and promoting tourism and attracting tourists most effectively. Therefore, in recent times, localities and tourist areas in the province have actively organized a series of unique cultural events, leaving a deep impression on friends and tourists.

Promoting tourism through cultural events. Thanh Hoa City organized a calligraphy demonstration and gave out auspicious characters for the new year at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Cultural Area.

Thanh Hoa City possesses rich cultural resources and a strong cultural identity. This is a tremendous resource for promoting tourism development. However, relying solely on existing potential without exploiting the value of the destination and creating additional tourism products to enhance visitor experiences will make it difficult to attract a large number of tourists, especially international visitors. Therefore, to improve the effectiveness of tourism promotion and create more attractiveness for tourists, Thanh Hoa City has focused on organizing many unique cultural activities, traditional folk games, and performances. Since the beginning of 2024, many cultural activities have taken place in the city, such as calligraphy demonstrations, painting games, pottery making, lantern making, clay figurine making, and weekly Saturday evening art programs... held at Hoi An Park. The "Traditional Tet in Ancient Villages" activity was held in Dong Son Ancient Village. Traditional activities such as wrapping banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), receiving calligraphy blessings from calligraphers, and lighting bonfires at Tien Son Cave were also held enthusiastically. All activities were professionally organized, attracting a large number of locals and tourists. From now until the end of the year, the city has planned to organize cultural events, especially highlight events, such as the "Thanh Hoa City - Hoi An City Cultural Week" in 2024, taking place at Hoi An Park from April 26th to May 1st, with many rich and attractive cultural, artistic, and sporting activities; the opening of Phan Chu Trinh pedestrian street and Lam Son Square cultural space to create a space and environment for organizing cultural, artistic, commercial, and service activities to meet the needs of the people and tourists... Through these activities, not only is a joyful and exciting atmosphere created for locals and tourists, but it is also an opportunity to promote the beautiful landmarks and traditional cultural features of the city to a wide audience of domestic and international friends.

Promoting tourism through cultural events to enhance visitor experiences is one of the approaches that Nghi Son town has been focusing on. Therefore, for many years, the locality has allocated significant resources to regularly and continuously organize a series of cultural events throughout all four seasons, with many unique and attractive activities such as traditional festivals, folk games and performances, the Nghi Son Beach Tourism Festival, etc. Notably, activities promoting the local cultural values, linked to tourism promotion, are quickly updated on the town's website, mass media such as newspapers and radio, and social media platforms like Facebook and Zalo, attracting the attention of a large number of people and tourists. This contributes to creating a highlight that attracts tourists and investors to the town, helping to promote sustainable socio-economic development.

In recent times, localities and tourist areas in the province have actively organized cultural events such as festivals, games, folk performances, and art programs to attract tourists. Notably, these events and programs have been meticulously planned in terms of content, scale, timing, and connection with other destinations in the province. This has contributed to promoting the local image more effectively, increasing the number of tourists staying and visiting during the events, and boosting tourism growth. According to the plan, in 2024, localities and tourist areas in the province will organize 145 cultural, sports, and tourism events. Of these, 85 are cultural events, 30 are sports events, and 30 are tourism events, held throughout all four seasons. Spring is associated with traditional festivals such as: Cua Dat Temple Festival, Am Tien Festival, Buffalo Sacrifice Festival... Summer is highlighted by events at coastal tourist areas and destinations: Sam Son, Hai Tien, Hai Hoa, and Quang Xuong Beach Tourism Festivals; Love Festival - Hon Trong Mai... Autumn and winter will feature national and international sports competitions; and the announcement of adventure tourism tours (trekking tours)... This contributes to realizing the goal of welcoming 13.8 million tourists and achieving total tourism revenue of 32,387 billion VND in 2024.
