On December 8, Mr. Arat Blui, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tay Giang District (Quang Nam), said that the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment has just issued a decision to recognize 959 green lim trees and 11 ancient banyan trees in the locality as Vietnam Heritage Trees.
An ancient green lim tree in the population recognized as a Vietnam Heritage Tree
959 green lim trees in the rare lim forest population in Ta Ry and Por'ning villages (Lang commune, Tay Giang district), 11 ancient banyan trees in Ating village (Ga Ry commune, Tay Giang district) after being recognized as Vietnam Heritage Trees will enjoy preferential conditions according to regulations of the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment.
According to Mr. Arat Blui, this result was achieved after the efforts of the local government and community of Tay Giang in zoning, management and protection in recent times.
Tay Giang District People's Committee will continue to implement measures to strengthen protection, zoning and open up directions for developing eco-tourism and experiences to serve visitors.
Previously, also in Tay Giang district, the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment recognized 1,146 pơmu trees, 435 rhododendron trees, 5 ancient banyan trees and 1 doi tree as Vietnam Heritage Trees.
