Attending the exchange were 80 veterans, historical witnesses who directly participated in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign in 1975, along with a large number of officers, soldiers of the armed forces, union members and youth of Tay Ho district.
At the meeting, delegates reviewed the significance, stature, historical value and great contributions of generations of fathers and brothers who made the Great Victory of Spring 1975.
In the emotional atmosphere of the meeting, Colonel Tran Quang Vinh - who was awarded the title "Brave American Destroyer", "Brave Vehicle Destroyer" many times and Colonel Phung Ba Dam, former lecturer of the Military Political Academy shared with the delegates the heroic memories of the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign. At the same time, he affirmed that the heroic and resilient spirit of the soldiers, youth volunteers and people from all over the country contributed to the historic victory in the Spring of 1975.
Through the meeting, Colonel Tran Quang Vinh also sent a message to the younger generation: We must strive to contribute and preserve the good traditions of our ancestors and the country. “You will be able to do it and do it better than your fathers and brothers. Contribute to peace, to the country, to make the country more decent and beautiful as President Ho Chi Minh wished,” Colonel Tran Quang Vinh emphasized.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tay Ho District Nguyen Dinh Khuyen expressed his emotion and honor to meet the veterans, historical witnesses who devoted their strength and blood to contribute to the Great Victory of Spring 1975. Chairman of the People's Committee of Tay Ho District Nguyen Dinh Khuyen believes and hopes that you and your comrades will continue to promote the nature and fine traditions of Uncle Ho's soldiers, take the lead in local emulation movements; actively contribute many important ideas in the work of building and consolidating a strong grassroots government, and successfully complete assigned tasks.
The Chairman of the Tay Ho District People's Committee also requested the Party Committees and authorities of Tay Ho District to continue to better lead and direct the implementation of gratitude activities, implement policies for people with meritorious services, and policies for the military rear; pay more attention to the work of educating traditions, patriotism, and raising revolutionary vigilance for the current young generation, students.
