Implementing Project 1 in the National Target Program 1719, "Solving the shortage of residential land, housing, production land, and domestic water", with the close attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, many ethnic minority households with difficult circumstances in Dam Doi district (Ca Mau) have been supported to build new houses, gradually stabilizing their lives and confidently developing production.
Accordingly, in 2022 and 2023, implementing Project 1, Dam Doi district has been proactive in reviewing beneficiaries, synthesizing investment needs and supporting households. The review and selection are carried out publicly and democratically from the grassroots level; correct subjects, correct norms. The total central budget capital in 2022 is 522 million VND. The total capital in 2023 is 5,138 billion VND. Of which, the central budget is 4,738 billion VND; the provincial budget is 400 million VND.
Accordingly, the district has supported residential land for 6 households with a total capital of 264 million VND; supported housing for 94 households with a total capital of 4.136 billion VND; supported job conversion for 78 households with a total capital of 780 million VND; supported distributed domestic water for 160 households with a total capital of 480 million VND.
In the coming time, to effectively implement Project 1, Dam Doi district has made a number of specific recommendations such as: Continuing to consider providing a second round of support for some subjects currently in particularly difficult circumstances (not yet out of poverty) and some subjects whose production development projects have not been effective. At the same time, it is proposed to consider increasing the level of support for residential land, housing and job conversion, in order to create conditions to improve the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas.
