Managing, protecting and promoting the value of the national treasure Golden Linga

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to manage, protect and promote the value of the national treasure Golden Linga currently kept at the Binh Thuan Provincial Museum.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee identified the key tasks to manage, protect and promote the value of the treasure, which is to organize the ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's decision on recognizing the national treasure (phase 12) in conjunction with the opening of the Kate Festival in 2024 taking place at the Po Sah Inư tower relic. At the same time, deploy the production of a 1/1 scale version of the national treasure, the golden Linga, to serve thematic exhibitions and mobile exhibitions to introduce and promote to the public inside and outside the province. Develop explanatory content and introduce the national treasure, the golden Linga, to serve the people and tourists.

Coordinate with local authorities and relevant agencies to promote and introduce the province's cultural heritage (including the national treasure Golden Linga) through integrating it into on-site displays, organizing mobile exhibitions in localities and schools in the province; increase promotion on the websites of relevant agencies and units and coordinate with media agencies to report, promote, propagate and introduce to the public.

Along with that, the Provincial People's Committee determined to promote propaganda work, raise awareness among cadres, party members and people about the value and importance of national treasures; strengthen inspection, supervision and have timely reports and proposals to handle unexpected situations that occur in the management and protection of national treasures. Develop plans to protect, patrol, monitor and ensure the safety of artifacts and national treasures stored and displayed at the Provincial Museum. As well as equipping anti-theft alarm systems and security camera systems, fire prevention and fighting systems to ensure the safety of artifacts in the exhibition house and storage warehouse of the Provincial Museum. Equip special cabinets to protect, preserve, regularly check the temperature and humidity of national treasures. Organize training and foster professional knowledge of preservation for cadres working in the preservation of artifacts.

The plan also states: National treasures need to be inspected and specially preserved periodically, ensuring the procedures of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on standards and responsibilities of officers and practitioners preserving museum artifacts. Review and propose priority for purchasing equipment and repairing and upgrading the storage system and exhibition house of the Provincial Museum to ensure conditions for storing and preserving artifacts and national treasures according to regulations.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to manage and provide professional guidance on the management, protection and promotion of the value of the national treasure Golden Linga; to organize the announcement ceremony; to direct the Provincial Museum to coordinate with the functional departments of the Provincial Police and Phan Thiet City Police to develop a plan to protect, patrol and ensure the safety of the artifacts.
