Military Region 9 celebrates Chol Chnam Thmay in An Giang

On April 9, a delegation from the Military Region 9 Command visited and congratulated Khmer Theravada pagodas on the occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay in An Giang province.

Specifically, the delegation visited and congratulated Soai So Pagoda (Nui To Commune, Tri Ton District); Pro Lai Meas Pagoda (Nui Voi Ward); Thom Mit Pagoda (Vinh Trung Commune, Tinh Bien Town). Colonel Nguyen Truong Giang (Head of the Mass Mobilization Department, Political Department of Military Region 9) informed about the political security situation, social order and safety in the Military Region; the implementation of the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind", "Joining hands to build new rural areas", and the military-civilian Tet. The total amount of money that the armed forces of Military Region 9 implemented last year was over 760 billion VND. In particular, An Giang province is a bright spot in organizing the military-civilian Tet, with many meaningful works and tasks, helping people have a stable life; receiving significant contributions from more than 1.3 million Khmer ethnic minorities in the military region.

In the coming time, I hope that the Venerables, Venerables, monks, Buddhists and the management boards of the pagodas will continue to accompany the armed forces, together with local Party committees and authorities to propagate and educate people to better implement the Party's policies and the State's laws; expand the spirit of great national unity; closely coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to implement social security policies, especially supporting housing, crops, livestock, etc. for ethnic minorities who are still facing difficulties.
