Management and exploitation of weapons and technical equipment (VKTBKT) is a regular and important task, directly contributing to improving the quality of technical work, meeting the requirements of training and combat readiness tasks. Realizing this, in recent years, the technical sector of Military Region 9 has actively and proactively implemented comprehensive technical work contents, especially promoting the implementation of the Campaign (CVD) "Management and exploitation of weapons and technical equipment (VKTBKT) well, durably, safely, economically and traffic safety" (called CVĐ 50).

To achieve the goal of ensuring technical equipment for tasks, the technical sector of Military Region 9 proactively coordinates with the agencies of the Military Region to direct units to strictly maintain the technical assurance regime; to do a good job of management, to grasp the quantity and quality; to review and remove from the payroll obsolete equipment, equipment with no alternative sources; to organize the reception, distribution, transfer and recovery of technical equipment strictly according to regulations; to regularly maintain the order of inventory and testing; to consolidate and perfect the system of books and registration forms for management of technical equipment at all levels, especially to effectively apply information technology in management work, to grasp the current status and level of synchronization of technical equipment.
“With the task of receiving, distributing, managing, preserving, and maintaining weapons and ammunition for units performing training, drills, and combat readiness tasks, along with promoting propaganda and education for officers, employees, and soldiers to fully understand the position and significance of safety work, raising awareness, responsibility, carefulness, meticulousness, and accuracy in performing tasks, the unit also effectively promotes the role of the commander in inspecting, advising, and proposing safety measures. It is known that in order to improve the quality and orderliness of the management of weapons and equipment, the technical sector at all levels has mobilized local funds to purchase and consolidate technical facilities, repair weapons and equipment, and conduct scientific research. Agencies and units have actively and proactively repaired and repainted hundreds of vehicles and artillery; renovated thousands of square meters of warehouses, stations, and repair workshops; and the fire prevention and fighting system, and anti-sabotage systems in warehouses have been regularly strengthened and gradually improved.
Colonel Tran Minh Ha, Deputy Chief of Technical Department of Military Region 9 shared: "With the attention and investment of all levels, the unit has gradually upgraded its system of technical facilities, drainage systems, boarding and disembarking docks, installed, tested and put into use a blackening line for weapons using DO oil burning technology... thanks to which it has increasingly met the requirements for storing, preserving and repairing military equipment and technical means."
Promoting scientific and technological research tasks
Due to the characteristics of the terrain and climate, the technical work of Military Region 9 has many unique features in terms of equipment types, preservation and maintenance. Therefore, every year, the technical sector of Military Region 9 regularly coordinates with agencies and units inside and outside the Army to research and open many scientific topics and tasks to improve the quality of technical work. A typical example is the implementation of scientific and technological tasks to research and install weapons on combat vehicles in river areas.
Colonel Nguyen Van Hung added: “Implementing the policy of the Ministry of National Defense on gradually self-sufficiently producing vehicles and technical equipment for the Army, with the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, the Military Region Technical Department focused its forces on research, innovation, and selecting many scientific topics. Accordingly, the unit has successfully researched and installed many gun and artillery complexes of various types on motor vehicles. After acceptance, the products were put into training, rehearsal and combat readiness tasks with high efficiency and absolute safety.”
In order to promptly respond to the management, exploitation, technical assurance, maintenance of good technical features and high combat readiness, the Technical Department of Military Region 9 also compiled the document sets "Technical documents of vehicles and artillery (M548-105mm)"; "Technical documents of vehicles and artillery M548-23mm"; "Technical documents of vehicles and artillery M125 (M106)-100". These document sets were used for training for the team of officers and technical staff, especially the drivers and gun crews who have used them proficiently and exploited them effectively through the unit's drills.
In addition, each year, the technical sector of Military Region 9 also organizes the review and acceptance of hundreds of initiatives and improvements at the military region and grassroots levels. Many initiatives and improvements are widely applied in practice at the unit, contributing to increasing productivity and quality in the preservation, maintenance and repair of technical equipment. "The requirements for technical assurance tasks are increasingly high.
Therefore, to further improve the effectiveness of the implementation of Campaign 50, in the coming time, we will direct the technical sector of the Military Region to continue to thoroughly implement Resolution 382 of the Central Military Party Committee (now the Central Military Commission), Conclusion 763 of the Central Military Commission on leading technical work in the new situation; concretize the action program to implement the resolutions of Party committees at all levels in deploying technical work aspects; effectively implement programs and goals to ensure technical assurance; promote the movement to promote initiatives and improve techniques in depth and widely...
