Since Vietnam and the World Economic Forum (WEF) established relations in 1989, cooperation between Vietnam and the WEF has been actively promoted and developed in many areas by leaders of both sides. Leaders from both sides have also intensified high-level contacts and exchanges. Vietnam has attended the WEF Davos Annual Meeting (Switzerland) four times at the Prime Minister level (2007, 2010, 2017, 2019) (in other years, usually at the Deputy Prime Minister level); and attended the WEF ASEAN Meeting (before 2016, WEF East Asia) four times at the Prime Minister level (2012, 2013, 2014, and 2017) (in other years, usually at the Deputy Prime Minister level).
