Yesterday afternoon, June 25, at the Government Headquarters (Hanoi), Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang received Vice Chairman of the State Ethnic Committee of China, Bian Ba Tra Xi.
At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Vietnam-China relationship is developing well. Both countries are making efforts to implement high-level agreements between the two sides. Vietnam is actively preparing for the meeting of the Vietnam-China Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee, scheduled to be held in Beijing next September.
The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed Vice Chairman of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of China Bian Bazha Xi to visit Vietnam, believing that the visit will contribute to promoting the good relationship between the two countries; contributing to concretizing the agreements and commitments of the two countries' senior leaders in recent times.

Regarding ethnic affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the State Ethnic Committee of China and the Ethnic Committee of Vietnam coordinate to organize more frequent exchanges and share experiences on issues of mutual concern such as policy making and resource mobilization to care for ethnic minorities.
The Deputy Prime Minister also suggested that the two countries' Ethnic Committees promote exchanges between ethnic minorities in the border areas of the two countries, thereby contributing to consolidating and promoting the relationship between the two Parties, the two countries and between the ethnic minorities of the two countries.
For his part, Vice Director of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of China, Bian Bazha Xi, affirmed that he will make efforts to concretize the cooperation relationship on ethnic affairs between the two Ethnic Affairs Commissions of the two countries, including concretizing the commitments in the Agreement on Cooperation on Ethnic Affairs, signed last December.
Vietnam currently has 54 ethnic groups while China has 56. The two Parties and States of Vietnam and China both attach great importance to ethnic work; the lives of ethnic minority people are increasingly improved; the work of preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities is of interest, investment and development; the relationship between ethnic groups in society in Vietnam and China is good. |
