On January 16, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with ambassadors from the 10 ASEAN member states in Beijing. During the meeting, Wang Yi stressed that China-ASEAN relations bring valuable stability to the region and the world, and this is something that should be cherished.

For their part, ASEAN ambassadors to China said that this year marks an important milestone in establishing diplomatic relations between many ASEAN countries and China.
ASEAN countries hope to take this opportunity to tap the potential of bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and investment, connectivity, digital economy, green transformation and sustainable development, continue to make the year of people-to-people exchanges a success, and bring ASEAN-China relations as well as China's relations with each member country to a new height.
On the same day, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of cooperation between Korea and ASEAN and welcoming the New Year 2025, in Seoul, Speaker of the Korean National Assembly Woo Won Shik held a meeting and reception for Ambassadors from 10 ASEAN countries in the country.

He also reaffirmed that Korea consistently maintains a foreign policy that values ASEAN and actively participates in cooperation mechanisms coordinated by ASEAN; and believes that Korea and ASEAN member countries will maintain the momentum of development and effectively exploit new areas of cooperation such as information technology and future industries.
Speaker Woo Won Sik added that the Korean National Assembly will continue to participate in the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly to promote regional cooperation.
At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho spoke on behalf of ASEAN Ambassadors to welcome the National Assembly Chairman to chair the first meeting of the year.
The Ambassador also proposed to organize regular meetings between leaders of the National Assembly, parliamentarians of Korea and the group of ambassadors of ASEAN countries to update information on legal policies between the parties, not only to strengthen cooperation between parliamentary agencies of the countries but also to contribute to enhancing exchanges between central and local agencies and people of Korea and ASEAN countries.
