On September 20, 1977, Vietnam officially joined the United Nations. Over the past 47 years, the Vietnam-United Nations cooperation has contributed to maintaining and strengthening a peaceful , secure and favorable environment for national development; promoting deeper international integration and contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position and image in the international arena.
