Hai Ba Trung District pays preferential allowances to nearly 2,700 meritorious people

On the morning of April 22, the People's Committee of Hai Ba Trung District organized a meeting with 250 delegates of veterans, former youth volunteers, and former People's Police who participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country in the district, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Delivering a speech at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Ba Trung District People's Committee Nguyen Quang Trung highlighted the significance of the historical event of the Great Spring Victory in 1975, culminating in the Ho Chi Minh campaign, completely liberating the South and unifying the country.

In that common victory, we cannot fail to mention the special role of veterans, former youth volunteers and former People's Police. They are the ones who fought on every battlefield, on every front - from the fiery front line to the solid rear, from the fierce battlefields of Truong Son, Tay Nguyen, Nam Bo to the war zones and areas temporarily occupied by the enemy.

“I would like to express my deepest gratitude and most sincere respect for the great, persistent and silent sacrifices and contributions of our veteran comrades, former youth volunteers and former People's Public Security officers - for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people,” said comrade Nguyen Quang Trung.

Comrade Nguyen Quang Trung said that over the years, the work of "repaying gratitude" has always been one of the top political tasks of the Party Committee and the Hai Ba Trung District government. Many practical care activities have been carried out such as: Fully and promptly providing preferential subsidies for people and their relatives who have contributed to the revolution, including paying monthly preferential subsidies to nearly 2,700 people with meritorious services with a total amount of over 100 billion VND/year.

At the same time, carry out well the work of caring for and helping wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the country through meaningful activities such as supporting vocational training, job creation... Supporting the construction or upgrading and repairing of houses for people with meritorious services, taking care of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Quang Nam province, each mother 6 million VND/year.

Every year, the district gives more than 200 savings books to policy families with a total amount of more than 600 million VND. These are practical actions that the Party Committee, government and people of Hai Ba Trung district have been and are taking to show gratitude to generations of people who have devoted and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and for the happiness of the people.

On this occasion, Hai Ba Trung district presented 250 gifts to veterans, former youth volunteers, and former People's Police who participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country in the district, each gift worth 800,000 VND.
