On April 23, the People's Council of Nam Tu Liem District, term III, 2021-2026, held its 23rd session. At the session, the People's Council of Nam Tu Liem District passed a resolution approving the policy of implementing the plan to rearrange administrative units of wards in the area, establishing 4 grassroots administrative units including Tu Liem, Xuan Phuong, Tay Mo and Dai Mo.
Tu Liem basic administrative unit includes the entire area and population of Cau Dien ward; most of the natural area and population of My Dinh 1, My Dinh 2, Phu Do, Me Tri wards (Nam Tu Liem) and part of the natural area and population of Mai Dich ward (Cau Giay).
Xuan Phuong basic administrative unit includes the entire area and population of Phuong Canh and Xuan Phuong wards; most of the natural area and population of Tay Mo ward and part of the natural area and population of Dai Mo (Nam Tu Liem), Minh Khai, Phuc Dien (Bac Tu Liem) wards, and Van Canh commune (Hoai Duc).

Tay Mo basic administrative unit includes most of the natural area and population of Tay Mo ward; part of the natural area and population of Dai Mo, Phu Do (Nam Tu Liem), Duong Noi (Ha Dong) wards and An Khanh commune (Hoai Duc).
Dai Mo basic administrative unit includes most of the natural area and population of Dai Mo and Trung Van wards; part of the natural area and population of Phu Do, Me Tri (Nam Tu Liem), Mo Lao, Duong Noi (Ha Dong), Trung Hoa (Cau Giay), Nhan Chinh (Thanh Xuan) wards.
Previously, Nam Tu Liem district organized a public consultation on the plan to rearrange administrative units of wards in the area and achieved a very high consensus.
Hanoi has a total area of nearly 3,360km2, including 30 district-level administrative units (12 districts, 1 town and 17 districts), 526 commune-level administrative units (160 wards, 21 towns and 345 communes); the permanent and temporary population is about 8.5 million people.
It is expected that Hanoi will be arranged into 126 new communes and wards in accordance with the policies and directions of the Central Government and in accordance with the practical situation of the city.
According to Hanoi's plan, after organizing to collect public opinions, the district level will direct the organization of People's Council meetings at the commune and district levels to pass a resolution approving the policy of rearranging grassroots administrative units before April 26.
Based on the results of collecting opinions from the people and the People's Councils at the grassroots and district levels; the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, and the Executive Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee shall approve the policy before April 28.
After that, the Hanoi People's Committee completed the project dossier and submitted it to the City People's Council to issue a Resolution approving the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units, completed on April 29 so that the City People's Committee could complete the project dossier and report to the Government before May 1.
