ENAB BALADI. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has ordered a 50% pay rise for civil servants, military personnel and pensioners in the public sector, as inflation in the country skyrockets after nearly 13 years of conflict.
NNA. Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib summoned the British Ambassador and handed him a diplomatic note protesting British Foreign Secretary David Cameron's visit to Beirut.
AL JAZEERA. Yemen's Houthi forces said they fired missiles at two ships in the Red Sea, causing minor damage to a cargo ship moving off the coast of Hodeidah, the country's capital.
AL-MONITOR. Suez Canal revenue in January fell 46% compared to the same period last year, from $804 million to $428 million, said Osama Rabie, chairman of Egypt's Suez Canal Authority.
ARAB NEWS. Jordan's King Abdullah II and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks in Amman, stressing the need to step up efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

TELENOR. Norwegian telecommunications group Telenor has installed a mobile phone base station in Antarctica, marking a breakthrough in data collection and ensuring the safety of researchers.

AP. The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting at Russia's request, as the war in the Gaza Strip continues to spread and threatens to have catastrophic consequences for world peace and security.
