After Hanoi "closed" the railway cafe on the Tran Phu - Phung Hung section (Hoan Kiem, Hanoi), a new cafe appeared, offering customers a safe and quiet space to watch the trains.

That is the "Hoa xa" coffee shop located next to Long Bien station with the main gate welcoming guests on Tran Nhat Duat street, and a side gate opening to Long Bien station (closed and opened by Long Bien station security staff). The shop is designed with large glass windows. From a high position, visitors can watch the trains passing right next to it. Especially here, visitors can see the ancient architecture of Long Bien Bridge and Long Bien Station.

Train passengers and visitors can comfortably rest, relax and check in at permitted locations as instructed by station staff... without having to use any services.

Mr. Le Huu Viet, a passenger waiting for the train at the Hoa Xa Coffee Shop, shared that the time spent waiting for the train, sipping a cup of coffee and watching the trains passing by in a quiet space, always brings a comfortable and very special feeling. It evokes nostalgia and brings a cheerful spirit after the fatigue of daily work.

Ms. Thu Huong sat in the Hoa Xa cafe watching the train passing by and shared that before, every time she sat in the train cafe on Tran Phu - Phung Hung street, she always felt nervous and afraid of losing her safety, but here she can see the train passing by with her own eyes but is very safe. This is truly an ideal place to rest, chat with friends or enjoy a relaxing space.

“The special thing about this cafe is that you can feel the historical and cultural atmosphere of Hanoi. Looking at Long Bien Bridge and enjoying coffee here brings a unique experience and creates memorable memories,” Ms. Huong added.

Understanding the needs of tourists coming to Hanoi who want to see trains running through unique ancient architectural works, after a period of research and survey, Vietnam Railways Corporation has chosen a 4-storey house with an area of 80m2 located opposite the inside of Long Bien Station, renovated and repaired the shop into a Hoa Xa cafe and organized it into a formal, cultural and safe destination for tourists.

To ensure the safety of visitors to the cafe to watch the train, in addition to increasing the number of security guards, the Long Bien Station Management Unit (Hanoi Railway branch) has also developed measures to ensure railway traffic safety. In particular, the functions and tasks of each unit, department, and station staff in ensuring order are clearly defined.

Accordingly, the door of the train waiting area on the railway side is often closed to prevent train passengers or tourists from entering the railway and Long Bien bridge area to check in and take photos. The management unit only opens the door for passengers to enter the train pick-up and drop-off area when it is time to pick up passengers at the train station according to regulations.

With an age of more than 120 years, unique architecture and special cultural and historical values, Long Bien Bridge and Long Bien Station have long been voted as special destinations attracting domestic and foreign tourists when coming to the capital Hanoi.

Long Bien Bridge is the first steel bridge across the Red River, connecting Hoan Kiem and Long Bien districts. This bridge was built by the French in 1898, inaugurated in 1902, and was originally named Doumer Bridge. After the liberation of the capital, the bridge was renamed Long Bien.

Located at the western end of Long Bien Bridge, Long Bien Station is a train station with a long history and is also a station with "unique" characteristics of the Vietnamese railway industry.

Inaugurated and operating since 1902, Long Bien station is also known as Dau Cau station, located just a few meters from Long Bien bridge. Along with Hanoi station (Hang Co station), this is one of two stations located in the old inner city of Hanoi. Due to its close connection with Long Bien bridge, Long Bien station can be considered a special part of this historic bridge.
