Ba Dinh District: Fire prevention and fighting instructions at high-risk facilities

Accordingly, Ba Dinh district focuses on completing on time, conducting inspections and providing guidance to facilities under the management of the Ward People's Committee, including: Multi-storey houses, multi-apartment houses; individual houses combined with production and business; houses for rent.

In addition, the functional forces organize work, guide and urge owners of facilities and households of multi-storey houses, multi-apartment houses, houses combined with production and business (including boarding houses) to organize solutions to ensure fire prevention and fighting safety according to the direction of the Prime Minister.

The district also guides facilities to develop fire fighting and escape plans suitable to the scale and characteristics of fire and explosion hazards; increase self-organization of drills for situations where fire and explosion may occur, and use forces and means at the facility to handle incidents and safely escape.

According to Vice Chairman of Ba Dinh District People's Committee Nguyen Trung Dung, from the beginning of 2025 to now, there have been 16 fires in the district, of which 14 were caused by the management and use of electricity. Therefore, during the peak, the Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee requested the implementation of fire prevention solutions to ensure safe use of electricity, limit and strictly manage fire sources... At the same time, strengthen escape solutions: Houses and floors must have at least 1 safe escape route for people and emergency exits.

Prevent fire from spreading and prevent smoke from entering areas that are dangerous to users, especially bedrooms; do not arrange floors, living areas and bedrooms interspersed with areas with other functions; take measures to isolate fire-hazardous areas.

There are early fire warning solutions such as installing automatic fire alarm systems or local fire alarm devices to detect and alert fires at an early stage, increasing people's escape time.

Increase the provision of initial fire fighting equipment, rudimentary demolition tools and personal protective equipment: portable fire extinguishers, local automatic fire extinguishers, gas masks, etc. It is recommended to equip an automatic fire fighting system suitable for the scale and nature of use of the house.
