(NLDO) - People working in residential groups have completed their work, contributing to building culture and people in residential areas.
On December 25, the District Party Committee - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee of District 3, Ho Chi Minh City held a conference to summarize the work of arranging neighborhoods and to honor and reward individuals participating in activities in neighborhoods and residential groups in the district, period 1975-2024.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of District 3 People's Committee Vo Van Duc expressed his respect and deep gratitude for the silent contributions and sacrifices of hundreds of neighborhood group leaders in District 3.

"Those people and kind hearts have completed their historical mission, fully completed the work of the head of the residential group, contributed to creating changes and development of social life, and contributed to building culture and people in residential areas" - Chairman of District 3 People's Committee acknowledged.
He said that during the nearly 50 years of building and developing the district, the forces participating in activities in the neighborhoods and residential groups have not been afraid of difficulties, increasingly affirming their role and position with the political system, implementing most of the tasks and movements related to the lives of the community, contributing to building and developing the socio-economy, taking care of and ensuring the lives of the people.
172 individuals with outstanding achievements in their activities in neighborhoods and residential groups received certificates of merit from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
"Although not a level of government, in each historical period, neighborhoods and residential groups have affirmed themselves as an extension, a bridge between the government and the people, connecting people with each other" - Mr. Vo Van Duc expressed.
According to Mr. Vo Van Duc, the establishment, separation, merger and renaming of neighborhoods and hamlets are important policies of the Party and State, contributing to improving the effectiveness of administrative management at the grassroots level, meeting the requirements of local socio-economic, cultural, educational and health development.
This is an important political task aimed at the goal of perfecting the grassroots political system, building neighborhoods close to the people, streamlining the ward apparatus; at the same time, it is also an important initial step for the work of arranging wards in District 3 in the period of 2023-2025 in accordance with the reality and socio-economic development trends of the city and District 3 in the comprehensive development period.
On this occasion, 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in participating in activities in neighborhoods and residential groups for many consecutive years received certificates of merit from the Prime Minister; 172 individuals received certificates of merit from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; 174 individuals received the Ho Chi Minh City Badge.
District 3 People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 672 individuals with 10-30 years of working experience; 16 groups and 21 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the work of arranging neighborhoods and residential groups.
Implementing Resolution No. 11/2024 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, District 3 has 112 neighborhoods, of which 2 neighborhoods remain unchanged and 110 neighborhoods are newly arranged and formed.
