Lin Dajun "dumped" 292 Taiwanese tourists on Phu Quoc Island during the Lunar New Year and denied responsibility by seeking "humanitarian assistance" from Winner Vietnam International Travel Company. This company spent more than 3.4 billion VND to receive and serve the group until they returned home; not to mention owing Bamboo Airways air tickets.
The incident continued to spread, some colleagues in the Taiwanese tourism industry stood up to expose his dark past, claiming that Lin Dajun had been "fraudulent" since 2011 and owed many fellow travel companies. The amount of money owed to partners in the industry exceeded one million NT dollars, and he was even sued. Not only did Lin Dajun defraud the travel company on Phu Quoc Island, he also owed a Maldives hotel 1.88 million NT dollars and the hotel required guests to pay when checking out during the recent Lunar New Year, according to Yahoo News .
Lin Dajun answers the press after the tourist abandonment incident
The scandalous past of the company owner who abandoned nearly 300 tourists in Phu Quoc
According to the anonymous travel agency owner, Lin Dajun's real name is "Lin Shilong" and he worked as the director of the "travel agency" in 2011. However, Lin and "Shan X Travel Agency" failed to repay their debts, resulting in losses for two partner travel agencies, one of which even took Lin Shilong to court to collect a debt of NT$1.13 million.
Lin Shilong later changed his name to "Lin Dajun" and established companies with others, such as Yunhui International Travel Company and Mega International Travel Company (operating the We Love Tour brand, the company that abandoned 292 customers in Phu Quoc). However, Lin still did not change his habit of defaulting on debts, which negatively affected many people. Colleagues working in the tourism industry in Southeast Asia know Lin well and think that what kind of person he is is no longer a secret.
Lin Dajun has been in debt in many countries under the name of Mega. According to the owner of a travel agency in Vietnam, Lin has cheated travel agencies in Da Nang, Hanoi and many other places, and it was only recently that he discovered that Mega had too many bad records. Moreover, Phu Quoc Island is a newly developed tourist destination in Vietnam, so he had never heard of Lin Dajun's work before, so he fell into his trap.
Tourists Abandoned in Phu Quoc Return to Taiwan
In addition to the local travel agency in Phu Quoc Island that was in trouble, the Taiwan Tourism Administration also said that Lin Dajun had unpaid debts to hotels in the Maldives. For example, during the Lunar New Year holiday, a group of Taiwanese tourists went to the Maldives and were asked by the hotel to pay NT$188. Ultimately, through the coordination of the Taiwan Tourism Quality Assurance Association, the organization paid more than US$1,000 before the tourists were able to leave.

Lin Dajun has a long history of debt, falsified degrees, and his most recent "bad record" was abandoning 292 Taiwanese tourists in Phu Quoc, which caused strong public opposition. In addition, Lin Dajun was also criticized by netizens, because according to Mega's official website, Lin Dajun's education is an MBA from Taiwan University and the Institute of Chemistry of Tamkang University. However, when searching again, there were no related documents and people suspected that Lin's education was also fake.
Taiwan's tourism authority found We Love Tour guilty of multiple crimes and fined the company NT$810,000 (about VND630 million).
The fine was imposed a day after authorities suspended We Love Tour for three months, after leaving 292 Taiwanese tourists stranded without accommodation, food or transportation on Phu Quoc Island from February 11 to 14.
Lin Dajun was also accused of intentional fraud, hundreds of customers were affected, the account was empty, the insurance money may not be enough to compensate tourists...
