On the morning of March 25th, VNDIRECT Securities Joint Stock Company officially issued a statement regarding the company's network outage. According to the statement, from 10:00 AM on March 24th, VNDIRECT's entire system was attacked by an international organization, resulting in the temporary inaccessibility of all VNDIRECT trading platforms.

Immediately afterwards, VNDIRECT's technology team made efforts to restore the system, but due to the massive data infrastructure, it will take more time to reconnect.
As of the morning of March 25th, the company was still working with partners, including leading Vietnamese technology corporations, and had coordinated with PA05 and A05 to ensure the prevention of similar incidents to VNDIRECT, thus ensuring market safety.
Notably, while VNDIRECT was still experiencing technical issues and investors with accounts at the company were unable to trade, many discovered that the systems of Vietnam Post Insurance Corporation (PTI) and IPA Securities Investment Fund Management Company Limited (IPAAM) were also experiencing similar problems.
Specifically, PTI's website states: "The PTI system was attacked from 10:00 AM on Sunday, March 24, 2024. As of this morning, the Technology Team has resolved the issue completely and is in the process of reconnecting to ensure timely transactions. However, the recovery process is expected to take time, so we will continue to update our customers."
The websites of these two companies display notices with the same content as the notice from VNDIRECT Securities Joint Stock Company.
According to our research, both companies have equity relationships with VNDIRECT and IPA Investment Group.
Specifically, in December 2021, Vietnam Post Corporation (VNPost) completed the auction to divest its entire 22.67% stake in PTI.
After VNPost divested its stake, PTI has two largest shareholder groups: VNDIRECT and authorized shareholders (accounting for 42.33%) and DB Insurance Company - South Korea (accounting for 37.32%).
According to the consolidated financial report for Q3 2023, IPAAM was the sole subsidiary of VNDirect (wholly owned). However, by December 2023, VNDirect had completed the transfer of 100% of its stake in IPAAM to IPA Investment Group.
