Plan International supports Quang Tri to strengthen community resilience to climate change

Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 2549/QD-UBND dated October 22, 2024 approving the project document "Strengthening climate change resilience for communities sponsored by Plan International" with a total non-refundable aid of nearly 7 billion VND.

According to the decision approved by the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, the project has a total non-refundable aid capital of nearly 7 billion VND, implementation period: 2024-2027 and is implemented in 06 communes of 3 districts, including: 2 communes of Vinh Son, Vinh Long in Vinh Linh district, 2 communes of Mo O, Huong Hiep in Dakrong district and 2 communes of Huc, Thuan in Huong Hoa district.

The project aims to enhance the resilience of vulnerable groups to climate change in disaster-prone areas in Quang Tri province and strengthen the capacity of local authorities in disaster risk management and climate change response.

Also through this project to improve community resilience to natural hazards caused by climate change in Quang Tri through gender-responsive and inclusive disaster risk management planning.

In addition, the project also helps local authorities in rural and urban areas to have the capacity to implement community-based climate change resilience actions.

At the same time, create an enabling environment for youth-centered climate resilience actions and apply disaster risk planning tools at the commune and district levels.
