Which vehicles are prohibited on newly opened highways?

On the morning of April 19, many key traffic works and projects were simultaneously inaugurated and opened to technical traffic, including 4 component projects of the North-South Expressway Project in the East phase 2021 - 2025, including: Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang, Bung - Van Ninh and Van Phong - Nha Trang. Therefore, vehicles traveling through the above-mentioned expressways need to pay attention to the traffic organization plan.

The Ministry of Construction said that for the expressway sections of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang and Bung - Van Ninh, vehicles will officially be allowed to circulate on the route from April 28.

On the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway, vehicles are allowed to travel from the starting point of the expressway at Km479+117 to the ending point of the expressway at Km514+441 in the North - South direction and vice versa. This expressway has 3 intersections and the maximum speed of vehicles is 80 km/h. However, the expressway does not have a rest stop, but is shared with the rest stop on the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway.

For the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway, cars are allowed to travel from the starting point of the expressway at Km514+300 to the end of Km568+496 in the North - South direction and vice versa. This expressway has 3 intersections and cars moving on the route have a maximum speed of 80 km/h.

The Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway has a rest stop located on both sides of the expressway at Km534+100 in Cam Xuyen district. The rest stop has been cleared and the investor is carrying out procedures to carry out construction and business management in accordance with regulations.

For the Bung - Van Ninh expressway, vehicles will operate from the Cu Nam intersection (about Km626+690.35) to the QL9B intersection (about Km673+750). This expressway has 4 intersections and a rest stop at Km651+00 on both sides of the road. The Ministry of Construction has selected an investor for the rest stop.

With the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway, cars are allowed to participate in traffic on the route from 6:00 a.m. on April 20. Accordingly, vehicles are allowed to operate on the route from Van Gia intersection (about Km299+812) to QL27C intersection (about Km368+350), connecting with the Nha Trang - Cam Lam expressway section currently in operation.

The Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway section has rest stops on both sides of the road, at Km334+900. To date, the Ministry of Construction has selected an investor for the rest stops.

People, vehicles and equipment serving the management and maintenance of highways with their own badges or symbols are allowed to travel on highways (no speed limit), but must not affect or obstruct traffic on the highway.

Vehicles carrying toxic, flammable substances and explosives on the list of dangerous goods prescribed by the Government in Decree No. 42/2020 dated April 8, 2020 are only allowed to circulate on highways with a permit from a competent authority.

Vehicles that meet all road traffic conditions are allowed to travel on highways, with a minimum speed of 60 km/h and a maximum speed of 90 km/h...
