ChatGPT has a strong impact on education
The workshop "Application of AI in learning" by ChatGPT in education is the opening content of the program organized by International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University).
According to Dr. Le Duy Tan, there is no denying the benefits that artificial intelligence (AI) or ChatGPT brings to education. These include personalizing learning based on the needs and goals of each student, a document repository that allows for quick and effective searching, simple use, and time-saving, etc.
However, he believes that the concern that students will lose their ability to think creatively due to AI and ChatGPT is completely justified. The education system is being strongly impacted by AI and ChatGPT.
Over-reliance on technology can reduce learners' ability to think and be creative. Overuse of ChatGPT can reduce the ability to understand and empathize with other people's emotions, due to the lack of real and deep interaction.
The co-founder of Lab AioT Vietnam said that ChatGPT's ability to collect and store users' personal information without consent would threaten privacy and cause information insecurity.
"If people constantly rely on ChatGPT to solve problems, they may lose the ability to solve problems and develop problem-solving skills. While not all answers from ChatGPT are correct. And this causes negative consequences for learning as well as future careers," said Dr. Le Duy Tan.

ChatGPT should be used to optimize and personalize learning as a tool to provide reminders, refine answers, and generate feedback in the form of summaries. It is absolutely necessary to use reflection, analysis, and reasoning skills when approaching academic problems and information generated by ChatGPT.
ChatGPT sometimes helps us write an impressive email, summarize deep subject knowledge. And it can be a very effective spelling and grammar checker.
However, there are many things that should not be abused, especially using ChatGPT to write a thesis because it is a "violation of academic integrity".
"It can be said that ChatGPT is just the first step of a technological revolution, causing impact and concern for education, especially thinking skills," said Dr. Le Duy Tan.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu, Vice Principal of International University (Ho Chi Minh City National University), in addition to creating an environment to encourage students to develop creative thinking and practice problem-solving skills, this year's Innovation Week also opens up opportunities for students to access new ideas, exchange and learn from experienced experts in many fields.
"This is an opportunity to connect creative startup ecosystems inside and outside the school, in the city and neighboring provinces. Through the activities of the week, students will have access to basic knowledge about sustainable development, emotional intelligence and important digital skills, thereby supporting their future development in study and work," Dr. Anh Vu shared.
