Activities that make an impression
According to Mr. Ho Dai Dung, Vice Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee, Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary - Hung Temple Festival and Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in 2024 will take place from April 9 to April 18 (ie from March 1 to March 10) in Viet Tri city, Hung Temple Historical Relic Site, districts, towns and cities in the province.
The ceremony is organized to ensure solemnity, respect, community spirit, safety, civilization, and economy with many important rituals such as: The death anniversary of the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan and offering incense to commemorate the Mother Au Co on the 6th day of the 3rd lunar month (April 14, 2024); The death anniversary of the Hung Kings and offering flowers at the relief "Uncle Ho talking to cadres and soldiers of the Vanguard Army" on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month (April 18, 2024); The incense offering ceremony to commemorate the Hung Kings of districts, towns, and cities in the province from the 1st to the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month (April 9 - 18, 2024).
The content of the festival is closely linked with cultural, sports and tourism events, forming a series of activities of the Cultural - Tourism Week, contributing to expressing the unique cultural identity of the land of the ancestors, promoting the potential and strengths of Phu Tho cultural tourism resources, creating attractiveness, attracting tourists from all over the world to attend the festival on the occasion of the Hung Temple Festival and visit and experience tourism in the land of the ancestors in the coming time.
Many exciting activities will take place, including the opening ceremony of the Hung Temple Festival and the Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of the Dragon 2024 held at the Festival Center Stage - Hung Temple Historical Relic Site.
Other activities are held at the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site during the festival such as: Cultural camp and exhibition, promotion, introduction of typical products; Mass art festival, Phu Tho folk songs; Orchid art display; Banh chung wrapping, cooking, and banh giay pounding contest; Lion - Lion - Dragon dance performance (on the 7th day of the 3rd lunar month) at the ceremonial axis area - Festival center and physical training, sports activities, traditional folk games; Procession of palanquins from communes, wards, and towns in the outskirts of the Relic Site to Hung Temple on the 7th day of the 3rd lunar month (April 15, 2024)...
Activities taking place in the center of Viet Tri city: Exhibition of artifacts, world documentary heritage, books, newspapers, photo documents at Hung Vuong Museum - Phu Tho Provincial Library and Hung Vuong Museum; Trade Fair and OCOP product display at Bao Da Stadium (Duu Lau ward, Viet Tri city); Street music program "Viet Tri Livemusic" at Van Lang Park; ancient village Xoan singing performance from March 6 to the end of March 10 of the lunar calendar at ancient Xoan wards in Viet Tri city; Open Swimming Competition at Van Lang Park Lake on March 6 of the lunar calendar; Volleyball tournament of teams competing for Hung Vuong Cup taking place from March 3 to the end of March 6 of the lunar calendar.
In particular, the art program and high-altitude fireworks display at the Southern Stage of Van Lang Park on the evening of the 9th day of the 3rd lunar month brought a joyful atmosphere, serving a large number of people and tourists returning to the homeland.
In localities and districts with relics worshiping Hung Kings and historical figures of the Hung Kings' time, plans should be made to organize incense offering ceremonies to commemorate Hung Kings and their ancestors at the relic sites, and people should be encouraged to prepare trays of food and offerings to burn incense at home to promote the fine moral traditions of the Vietnamese people, contributing to preserving the heritage value of the Hung Kings' worship beliefs in Phu Tho.
Launching the tour "Back to the UNESCO Heritage Site"
Ms. Phung Thi Hoa Le, Head of Tourism Management Department, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province, said that on the occasion of Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival in 2024, the Department launched the tour "To the UNESCO Heritage Site". In which, Hung Temple is used as the main starting point to go to other famous and scenic spots in the province.
The 1-day tour will have two options: Hung Temple, Lai Len Temple, Hung Lo ancient village (or Hung Temple - Lai Len Temple); the 2-day-1-night tour includes: Hung Temple, Hung Lo ancient communal house, Tam Giang Temple, Long Coc tea hill, Wyham Thanh Thuy tourist area. The 3-day-2-night tour includes: Hung Temple, Long Coc tea hill and Xuan Son National Park.
According to Ms. Le, tourists participating in this tour will practice the worship of Hung Kings - an intangible cultural heritage of humanity at the Hung Temple historical relic site; enjoy Xoan singing - an intangible cultural heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO and visit Hung Lo ancient communal house - a complex of culturally valuable relics, typical of the land of the ancestors; Lai Len temple - the origin of Phu Tho Xoan singing. Tourists can also visit Tam Giang temple, a 1,300-year-old temple, located at the confluence of three rivers: Red River, Lo River, Da River...
In particular, when participating in this tour, visitors can also admire the beautiful, poetic scenery of Long Coc tea hill. This is the most attractive destination in Tan Son district, Phu Tho. In addition, visitors can also trek in the forest, learn about the forest ecosystem, explore the scenery at Xuan Son National Park, and enjoy the cuisine of the Muong people here.
Ms. Phung Thi Hoa Le said that on this occasion, Phu Tho Tourism Department implemented the Program of Cooperation and Linkage to Develop Tourism in 8 Expanded Northwestern Provinces, with Ho Chi Minh City, creating more attractive tourism links to attract visitors such as "Journey to the Source", "Linked Tourism - Northwest Arc".
