Phu Quoc Island is preparing to welcome the super yacht AIDAstelle to enter the country on Valentine's Day, February 14.
On the morning of February 10, Mr. Tran Minh Khoa, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Quoc City (Kien Giang Province) said that the locality is preparing to welcome a super yacht carrying 2,000 international passengers to Phu Quoc International Passenger Port on February 14.
Phu Quoc International Passenger Port is being closely inspected before welcoming the super yacht AIDAstelle on Valentine's Day, February 14.
Accordingly, the super yacht AIDAstelle carrying 2,000 passengers registered to dock at 9:00 a.m. and leave at 7:00 p.m. on the same day, February 14.
Next, the super yacht Costa Serena also registered to dock at Phu Quoc port on February 17-18 and February 20.
According to Mr. Tran Minh Khoa, the port currently has some items such as the fire prevention and fighting system, the water system operator and other auxiliary works that have not been completed. However, Phu Quoc still ensures good safety for passengers and ships docking at the port according to Vietnamese and international maritime regulations.
"For unfinished projects, we will conduct bidding and procedures to quickly put them into operation in July 2025," said Mr. Khoa.
Phu Quoc International Passenger Port started construction in 2015, with an area of 180 hectares and an 800m long breakwater, with a total investment of 1,644 billion VND.
The port can accommodate ships with a capacity of up to 15,000 tons and passenger ships with a capacity of 5,000 to 6,000 passengers. This will be the first multi-functional international passenger port meeting international standards in Vietnam.
