Recently, the movement of physical exercise and sports has attracted a large number of female members in Kim Son district to participate. This is a useful activity to help women improve their health, and at the same time is a "string" connecting and strengthening solidarity among members, together building a comprehensive and dynamic image of women.
Putting aside the worries of daily life and work, from 5 pm every day, members of the Volleyball Club established by the Women's Union of An Hoa commune arrange their time to practice. Thanks to their love and regular practice, at the 2024 Women's Volleyball Tournament organized by the District Women's Union in mid-April, the Volleyball Club of the Women's Union of An Hoa commune won second prize.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy said: The club has 24 members. Every day, after stressful working hours, cleaning the house, taking care of children's meals and studying, instead of staying at home watching TV, surfing the phone, my sisters and I often focus on practicing. Since joining the club, many members feel excited, their health has improved, they are more confident and active.
Ms. Dao Thi Hien, President of the Women's Union of An Hoa commune, said: With the desire to create a playground for women to meet, exchange and improve their health, the Union has mobilized members and women in the branches to establish clubs and actively organize sports and physical training competitions. Therefore, the sports movement of members and women in the commune has developed strongly.
Up to now, the Association has established a women's volleyball club and 14/14 branches have established "Folk Dance and Sports" clubs. Members of the sports and fitness clubs are very excited and enthusiastic about practicing at a fixed time every day. Joining the club not only helps members improve their cultural and spiritual life but also strengthens solidarity among women, helping women become more confident and creative in life.
Implementing the target "Each Women's Union maintains a form of culture, arts, physical education and sports" and the movement "Each woman should choose a suitable sport to practice every day" launched by the Central Women's Union, all levels of Women's Union in Kim Son district have stepped up propaganda and mobilized cadres and members to actively participate in cultural, artistic and physical education movements to respond to the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" in the period of 2021 - 2030, promoting the emulation movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era" ... step by step towards building the image of civilized, confident and modern women.
In order for the movement to develop both in scale and quality, the Association at all levels regularly coordinates to organize competitions and sports exchanges such as: "Folk Dance Sports" Competition, Women's Volleyball Tournament... to celebrate the Association's traditional days (March 8, October 20), important events, and national holidays. Based on the results, the "nuclei" will be selected to participate in sports competitions organized by the district and province.
Currently, 25/25 association bases have at least one type of physical education and sports. The district currently has 25 women's volleyball clubs, 282/298 branches have Sports and Folk Dance clubs, attracting thousands of female members to participate. Each team and sports club has from 10 to 30 members established and maintained by the commune-level women's association or the village and block women's association.
Comrade Dao Thi Thanh Thom, Vice President of the Kim Son District Women's Union, said: The physical education and sports movement of members and women in the district has become a useful playground, arousing the spirit of physical education and sports, not only helping women improve their health but also strengthening solidarity, contributing to enriching the spiritual and cultural life, building the image of civilized and modern Kim Son women.
The movement also contributes to increasing the rate of gathering, attracting members, and building an increasingly strong organization. To continue spreading the movement, in the coming time, the District Women's Union will mobilize and encourage grassroots organizations to establish sports clubs, creating the best conditions for members and women to participate in training and organizing exchanges and competitions between communes, towns, and branches, creating cohesion within the organization.
