The event is part of a series of meaningful activities towards the Hung Kings' death anniversary in 2025, attracting a lot of attention from the community.
This year's contest gathered 10 participating teams, including representatives from the Women's Union of districts, cities and towns in the province, home cooking cooperatives in Hong Linh town and Hong Linh High School.
With the goal of wrapping and cooking 1,000 Chung cakes and 200 Day cakes, the teams will offer them to the Hung Kings as a symbol of respect and gratitude.
Throughout the day, from 8am to 3pm, teams will demonstrate their skills in wrapping, cooking and presenting their products. Once completed, each team will continue to display and explain the meaning of the cakes, before the judges give their final evaluation.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Ha, President of the Ha Tinh Women's Union, emphasized that the contest is an important opportunity to promote andeducate female cadres and members about the tradition of patriotism and deep gratitude to the Hung Kings and ancestors who contributed to building and defending the country.
She also affirmed that this is an opportunity to educate the moral value of "When drinking water, remember its source", thereby arousing the pride and sense of responsibility of each individual in contributing to consolidating and building the great national unity bloc, while promoting the advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.
Chung cakes and Day cakes made by the skillful hands of Ha Tinh women are not only a gift of gratitude to the National Ancestors but also a testament to the solidarity, creativity and sense of responsibility of local women.
Held annually, the contest has become an important cultural activity, contributing to educating the tradition of patriotism, preserving national identity and promoting the image of Dai Hung Historical and Cultural Relic Site - a place of worship for the Ancestor Kinh Duong Vuong and the Hung Kings in Ha Tinh.
With profound cultural values, this year's contest continues to spread the spirit of national pride, while affirming the role of women in preserving and promoting the precious heritage of our ancestors.
