Ms. Le Thi Hang (47 years old, residing in Tan An ward, Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak) is the oldest female candidate in Dak Lak to take the 2024 high school graduation exam.
Leaving the exam site of Hong Duc High School (Buon Ma Thuot city) after finishing all 4 subjects (literature, math, history, geography), Ms. Hang could not hide her joy at having completed the exam that she had been dreaming of for nearly 20 years.

Ms. Hang shared that she was born and raised in Thai Binh province in a farming family. When Ms. Hang was in middle school, her father and mother passed away, so she did not have the opportunity to continue her high school studies.
Leaving school early, Ms. Hang went to work as a freelancer in the southern provinces and then went to the Philippines to work as a factory worker. There, she married a man from Nghe An and the couple worked hard to save money to return to Vietnam to live.
In 2010, Ms. Hang and her husband moved to Dak Lak to live and work. She opened an airline ticket agency and participated in activities of Tan An Ward (Buon Ma Thuot City). Currently, she is the Deputy Secretary and Head of the Front Committee of Residential Group 7, Tan An Ward.
"When the economy was somewhat stable and the children were grown, I discussed with my husband my desire to continue studying, to get a high school diploma and continue studying. Luckily, with the support of my family, I boldly applied to go to school even though I was almost 50 years old," Ms. Hang confided.
To facilitate the learning process, she registered to study at the vocational secondary school and cultural program at Dak Lak College. Ms. Hang's average score for all subjects was 8.5 points, so she was very confident when entering the high school graduation exam.

"After finishing the exam, I found that the questions were not too difficult, and the questions were designed to classify candidates. With the knowledge I learned at school and self-study, I think I will pass the graduation exam. This is the first time I have taken the exam, and although I am old, I am not hesitant. I took the exam to motivate young people to study," Ms. Hang shared.
The mother of two children added that after receiving her high school graduation exam results, she will use her scores to register to study law at a university.
"For me, learning is lifelong, so if I try hard, I will succeed," Ms. Hang affirmed.
