On September 25, Mr. Le Cong Thong, Principal of Nguyen Du Secondary School in Tam Ky City, Quang Nam, informed that the school is clarifying the incident of a parent entering the classroom to beat an 8th grade student.

Initial information, on the morning of September 24, while playing, 2 students of class 8/9 and 1 student of class 8/11 of Nguyen Du Secondary School had a conflict that led to a fight. After that, the student of class 8/11 borrowed the phone of the school security guard to call his parents. The male parent went to the school to take his child to the hospital. In the afternoon of the same day, this person returned to the school, entered the class 8/9 and beat the other student. When the security guard and teacher discovered the incident, they intervened, and the parents left.

According to Mr. Thong, yesterday afternoon the school organized a sports activity in the school yard, with many people coming to cheer. Therefore, when the male parent entered the classroom to beat the student, the security guard was unable to stop him. After the incident, the homeroom teacher asked the three students involved to write a report.

On the morning of September 25, the school invited the parents and 3 8th grade students to a meeting. The meeting was attended by the Board of Directors, homeroom teachers and the Team Leader. At this meeting, the students who fought each other realized their mistakes. The parent who rushed into the classroom to beat the student also admitted his mistake and apologized to the student, the student’s parents, and the school Board of Directors.

“The three parents agreed to stop the incident and not let it happen again. The students also reconciled with each other,” said Mr. Thong.
