Scholarship awarding activities are publicized on the school's fanpage.

Previously, Ms. Tran Thi My Nam (parent of a student at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted) said she had sent a petition to the authorities to report the organization of lottery ticket sales at this school.

According to Ms. Nam, this behavior is a violation of the law, because the school is aneducational institution, not a place that is allowed to organize lottery business activities. On the other hand, the students are not old enough to participate in such activities.

According to the reporter's investigation, the total amount of money collected from the lottery ticket issuance was nearly 70 million VND, plus the remaining amount of the scholarship fund, the School Union spent a total of 81 million VND on 81 scholarships, each worth 1 million VND for 81 students with difficult circumstances inside and outside the school.

The lucky draw took place at the flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the week, with the presence of all students and teachers of the school. All scholarship awarding activities were announced by the School Youth Union on the school's fanpage.

Responding to the press, Mr. Nguyen Tho Minh Quang, Principal of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, said that this is a scholarship fundraising activity, not for profit. All proceeds from the above-mentioned lottery scholarship fundraising activity of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted Youth Union are public, transparent and given to students in difficult circumstances, so the above-mentioned fundraising activity is not a lottery business.

Currently, the school is working with the Department of Education and Training and relevant agencies on the above incident.
