Students and parents of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) enthusiastically participate in extracurricular sports activities.
According to the Department of Education and Training, through understanding the feelings of the direct beneficiaries of these services, parents and students, the survey aims to scientifically and objectively evaluate the quality of service provision of public educational institutions from kindergarten to high school.
Parent satisfaction scores decrease with grade level
Specifically, this department conducted a survey in District 1, Binh Tan District and Nha Be District (each level of education in each district selected 3 schools) and distributed 19,004 questionnaires with the following contents: Access to educational services; facilities, equipment; educational environment; educational activities; development and progress of learners. The total number of questionnaires collected included: 14,128 from parents and 4,876 from students.
The results showed that the satisfaction scores on all criteria were highly appreciated by parents and students. For all 5 public education services provided, the satisfaction scores of students and parents were all from 4 or higher, ranging from satisfied to very satisfied.

In particular, the overall satisfaction score of parents and students reached the highest in the criterion of "Educational activities". According to the assessment of the Department of Education and Training of the City, this partly proves the fair and transparent way of organizing teaching and evaluating learning outcomes, the friendly, cordial and united relationship between students, the safe and healthy learning environment, meeting the learning needs of students and the expectations of parents.
At the district level, the overall satisfaction score of parents and students is shown as follows: Parents' satisfaction score for public education services in all criteria is 4 points or higher (5-point scale).
Of which, the highest satisfaction score in the criterion of "Educational environment" at preschool level reached 4.92 points, the lowest in the criterion of "Facilities and teaching equipment" reached 4.43 points. The satisfaction score of parents with public education services in all criteria decreased by level of education, the lowest in secondary and high school levels.
For parents, the gap in satisfaction scores between districts is relatively even. The highest satisfaction score for the criteria of "Educational environment" and "Accessibility to education" for educational services at schools in Nha Be district is 4.70 points, the lowest score for the criterion of "Development and implementation of civic duties" is 4.62 points.
Through the survey results, the Department of Education and Training assessed that overall, parents' satisfaction with public education services by district was highly appreciated by parents, proving that parents trust and are satisfied with educational services at school.
Student and parent satisfaction rates vary by district
Through analysis, all criteria of student satisfaction with public education services by district were highly appreciated. In particular, student satisfaction in Nha Be district was higher than in District 1 and Binh Tan district. The highest student satisfaction score was in the criterion of "Educational environment" at 4.59 points in Nha Be district and the lowest was in the criterion of "Facilities and teaching equipment" at 4.44 points in Binh Tan district.
Meanwhile, the overall satisfaction rate of parents by district is highest in District 1, in which the criterion "Facilities and teaching equipment" in District 1 reaches 97.80%; the lowest criterion "Accessibility to education" for educational services in Nha Be District reaches 95.97%. The overall satisfaction rate of students with public education services is highly appreciated and relatively even in all criteria, the highest reaching 96.92%, the lowest reaching 95.08%.
Statistics on the rate of meeting students' expectations by location show no difference between districts, the highest in Nha Be district reaching 97.26%, second in District 1 reaching 97.21% and Binh Tan district reaching 97.05%. Overall, the rate of meeting students' expectations has increased by more than 5% compared to 2023.
According to the assessment of the Department of Education and Training of the City, the results of the survey on people's satisfaction with public education services in the city in 2024 have improved compared to 2023, which partly objectively reflects the efforts of the education sector in improving the quality of education services, implementing: Building "Happy Schools", "Happy Classrooms"; applying information technology, digital transformation in teaching and learning activities; building an educational approach among the team of city managers and teachers is being invested in, cared for, and developed, focusing on improving the quality of comprehensive education for students...
However, there are still problems that the city's education and training sector always has to face, such as difficulties in facilities and schools. In this criterion, both the general satisfaction scores of students and parents are low. This problem is explained by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training due to the rapid population growth rate of the city, especially the increase in mechanical population. Although all sectors and levels have paid great attention and support, the speed of expanding the scale of schools and classes is still limited, not meeting the needs of the people.
