Parents rushing into schools to beat students, even teachers, is no longer an isolated story.
The most recent incident happened at Nguyen Du Secondary School, Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province. When his son had a conflict with two classmates in the same grade and was beaten by his friend, causing one eye to swell, Mr. HVL rushed straight into the classroom and beat the other two students.

The incident has been handed over to the police for handling, but one detail that needs attention is that when Mr. L. rushed into the classroom, the security guard and the homeroom teacher of the two students were present, spoke up to stop them, and asked the parents to calm down so the school could handle the situation.
However, these "fences" to protect students in schools are ineffective when parents can still rush into the classroom to beat students.
There have been many incidents where school gates and security guards have been disabled by angry parents.
In early 2024, at Nguyen Chi Dieu Secondary School, Hue City, Thua Thien Hue, there was also an incident showing that the school gate was "powerless" before parents.
When two 7th grade students got into a fight, the supervisor took them to the school's tradition room to discuss and resolve the matter.
At that moment, the mother of a student, after receiving a call from her child, rushed straight from home, passed through the school gate, entered the school's reception room and slapped the student who had a conflict with her child.
The student was slapped right in school, right in the lecture room, right in front of the teacher.
At a kindergarten in Lao Cai, there was an incident where a 2-year-old kindergartener was beaten by his father in class, right in front of many teachers.
When he came to pick up his child, he saw him crying because he was fighting over a toy with a friend. This father rushed into the classroom, pulled his hair, slapped and threatened his friend. The scene happened right in front of 3 teachers of the class.

Not only students but also teachers can be victims of "slaps" from their parents. There, the protective layer at school becomes fragile and weak in the face of aggression and loss of control from parents.
The incident in Long An where parents entered the school and forced the teacher to kneel down and apologize, which shocked public opinion, also showed that the protective layers at schools are fragile and weak in the face of the aggressiveness and lack of control of parents.
Regardless of the right or wrong of the incident, parents easily stormed into the school and argued with the teacher. More painfully, when the parents made a scene and forced the teacher to kneel down and apologize, the school principal was also present.
After saying "You can't kneel" when the matter was not resolved properly, the principal left the office leaving the young teacher with the out of control parent.
It is also the leader's turning his back on his parents and teachers to "deal with it himself".
Then the unprecedented incident of a teacher kneeling before parents to apologize caused a stir.
From the incident, the issue that was raised by this school at that time was that when parents came to the school to discuss and reflect, they would not be allowed to go directly into the school or classroom. Parents would only stand outside the gate, and only when the school agreed would parents be invited in to discuss.
After that warning, there were still a series of incidents where parents rushed into schools to assault students and teachers. There was also an incident where a parent brought a knife into the school and forced the principal to kneel down and apologize.
There are so many issues to discuss about slaps and fists from parents in schools. But from a school perspective, one thing that needs to be mentioned is that even in the classroom, even when next to teachers, students are not necessarily safe.
School violence is now not only a story between students but also between parents and students, between parents and teachers.
Ms. Nguyen Thu Yen, manager of a private school in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the difficulties for schools are not only administrative pressures, inspections from management levels, and the complex psychology of students in modern life, but now also come from parents.
There are many parents who completely entrust their children to the school, regardless of how their children's lives are at school. On the contrary, many people violently interfere in all their children's problems, defending their children so unreasonably that they lose their sanity, tolerance, and sympathy.

According to Ms. Yen, parents can now become a danger to students and schools. Especially when the school gate is not capable enough to protect students and teachers.
"This is the challenge for schools today. The story is not about building taller, stronger school gates with bigger locks to create a hard distance with parents.
The problem is how to make both sides understand each other, cooperate with each other, be willing to dialogue and set necessary limits between the parties to work towards the goal of educating children," Ms. Yen stated her opinion.
