Focus on digital transformation
On the morning of November 3, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School held an inauguration ceremony for the school's traditional room. This project aims to mark the memorable milestones in the history of the formation and development of the three-generation Ao Tim-Gia Long-Minh Khai school, as well as celebrate the 110th anniversary of the school's founding .
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Chuong, Principal of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, said that the tradition room has historical significance because the school has a long history of development with diverse activities and achievements. The space is designed in a modern style with scientific display areas. "And so that generations of students can fully understand the school, we also chose to digitize all related documents," Ms. Chuong said.
Among them, two information lookup machines with a total cost of 100 million VND are located in the middle of the room. The machines have smart interactive screens, storing information on activities as well as student data from 1975 to the present. In addition, the machines also integrate VR360 technology that links 360-degree panoramic photos, creating a realistic and vivid "tour" of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School.
According to Ms. Chuong, the school is promoting digital transformation in expertise and management. Because education 4.0 can equip teachers and students with many soft skills necessary for capacity development and innovation. "With the support of technology, we strive to help students gain knowledge, skills and awareness of a large world , thereby creating global citizens," the female principal shared.
Student's mark
A highlight of the tradition room is the participation of students, including Nguyen Thi Ngoc Trinh, a young party member who was admitted to the Party in grade 12 and is currently a student at the University of Finance and Marketing. Trinh said she participated in designing content about the school’s history and achievements, and this work has been ongoing for the past month.
"Time was tight, so I went to school almost every day from morning to night to do it. However, because I 'fell in love' with the art field, this was a precious opportunity for me. Being trusted and entrusted by the school is also a source of pride and honor for our students. The result is that today, everyone was amazed when visiting the areas in the room," Trinh excitedly said.
Mai Xuan Canh, a student at the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University), and a team of many generations of students and alumni spent more than a summer creating a model of the school for display. First, the group had to find and study a large number of real images to draw the design frame. Then, they took advantage of a variety of materials, from paper, foam to 3D printing, to create products and structures such as stone benches or walls.
"Finally, we sat down together to polish and manually assemble the different parts into a complete model. The most memorable moment during the process was probably the moment when the teachers 'rolled up their sleeves' to work with us, some painting and some gluing. Those were lovely memories and showed the closeness between teachers and students," the male student shared.
Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School will soon celebrate its 110th anniversary on November 18. After this date, the school, which has been recognized as a city-level architectural and artistic relic, will open regularly to welcome people to visit its traditional rooms, as well as create conditions for tourists to visit when coming to Ho Chi Minh City.
