Coordinate management, protection and promotion of the value of Ha Long Bay

On October 31, in Ha Long City, Ha Long Bay Management Board held a conference to review the work of coordination, management, protection and promotion of the value of Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.

In 2024, the Ha Long Bay Management Board and relevant departments, branches, localities and units will coordinate to advise the Provincial People's Committee to implement and ensure compliance with the provisions of the Regulations on management, protection and promotion of the value of the World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay, Vietnam's laws on cultural heritage and in accordance with the Guidelines for the implementation of the World Heritage Convention.

The work of responding to, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, incidents, and search and rescue in the bay has received attention. Many violations of fisheries, security and order, and inland waterway traffic safety have been detected, prevented, and handled promptly. Socio-economic activities in Ha Long Bay have been closely monitored. Awareness and compliance of organizations, businesses, and individuals operating in the bay have been gradually raised, thereby contributing positively to the management, conservation, and promotion of the value of the Heritage.

In 2025, it is forecasted that the coordination of management, protection and promotion of the value of the World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay will continue to face difficulties and challenges due to the complicated developments of security and order, social safety, tourism business environment, etc. The Ha Long Bay Management Board and relevant departments, branches, localities and units will continue to effectively implement the assigned tasks in the Regulations on management, protection and promotion of the value of the World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay, the plan for management, protection and promotion of the value of the World Heritage of Ha Long Bay in the period of 2021-2025, with a vision to 2040.

Rewarding collectives with outstanding achievements in coordination, management, protection and promotion of the value of the World Natural Heritage of Ha Long Bay.

At the same time, advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue a Plan for management, protection and promotion of the value of Ha Long Bay World Heritage for the period 2026-2030, with a vision to 2045; synchronously and effectively implement the Regulations on inter-sectoral coordination in the management, protection and promotion of the value of Ha Long Bay World Heritage; focus resources on collecting and treating waste on the bay as well as speeding up the progress of dismantling and relocating illegal farming facilities on Ha Long Bay; closely manage and supervise the process of dismantling and relocating. At the same time, the Board will strengthen propaganda, dissemination and update regulations on management, conservation and promotion of the value of Ha Long Bay Heritage to organizations, businesses and individuals operating in socio-economic activities on the bay to raise awareness and responsibility for protecting the Heritage; Advise the Provincial People's Committee to develop a coordination regulation with the Hai Phong City People's Committee to manage, protect and promote the value of the World Heritage Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago.
