On the afternoon of July 14, under the chairmanship of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, the National Assembly Standing Committee closed its 24th session, completing the set agenda.

At the 24th session, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on summarizing and reviewing the implementation of the Resolution on voters' contact by National Assembly deputies; and reviewed the National Assembly's report on people's petition work in May and June 2023.

The National Assembly Standing Committee listened to the report and gave opinions on the initial results of the supervision of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the innovation of general education programs and textbooks.

The National Assembly Standing Committee gave its opinions on the draft Law on Roads and the draft Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety. It gave its opinions on the summary of the 5th Session and gave its initial opinions on the preparations for the 6th Session of the National Assembly.

The National Assembly Standing Committee has approved the draft Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units for the 2023-2030 period.

In his closing speech, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that after 2.5 working days, the National Assembly Standing Committee had completed all 7 contents as planned in the proposed program, achieving quality.

The head of the National Assembly said that the meeting documents had been carefully prepared by relevant agencies. Members of the National Assembly Standing Committee spent time carefully studying the documents, giving their opinions responsibly, and contributing many valid opinions.

On that basis, the National Assembly Chairman requested the Secretary General of the National Assembly, the Chief of the National Assembly Office and relevant agencies to promptly issue notices and conclusions of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the contents of the meeting so that relevant organizations and agencies can promptly organize implementation.

The National Assembly Chairman noted that regarding the Resolution on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units for the 2023-2030 period approved by the National Assembly Standing Committee at this session, he requested that agencies urgently review, complete, and strive to sign and certify the issuance of the Resolution within 1 week, as a basis for agencies and localities to organize implementation, ensuring the progress of the time according to regulations.

The National Assembly Chairman acknowledged that the Government, ministries, branches, relevant agencies and organizations have closely coordinated with the National Assembly agencies and the National Assembly Standing Committee to successfully organize this regular session, the 24th session.

Stating that this is a further preparation step for the 6th Session of the National Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue noted that there is still much work to be done in the coming time, including the regular August and September meetings of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the thematic meeting on law-making work, and the Conference of full-time National Assembly deputies.

The head of the National Assembly requested the National Assembly Standing Committee and agencies to continue to update and provide comments, and prepare both the content and organization of the 6th Session. The National Assembly Chairman expressed his confidence that with the experiences accumulated since the beginning of the term and continuing to promote the spirit of effective coordination, the 6th Session will be carefully prepared and successfully organized, meeting the wishes and expectations of voters and people nationwide.
