On January 10, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the "10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit" held in Gujarat state, India.
The conference, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2004 when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, is held every two years to connect businesses, share knowledge and establish strategic partnerships for inclusive growth and sustainable development.
This conference, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the initiative, attracted the participation of many Indian leaders and businesses, along with guest representatives from more than 100 countries, including senior leaders from the UAE, Czech Republic, Mozambique, Timor Leste, Uganda, etc.
Speaking at the opening session, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that this Conference is of great significance because it marks the beginning of a period of 25 years in which India will take advantage of its potential and strengths for development, aiming to realize the goals of making India a developed country on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of independence in 2047.
The Gujarat Chief Minister also highlighted the potentials and strengths of the state, an economic development hub in Western India; welcomed foreign investors to increase their investments in Gujarat.

Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang shared his joy of attending the Conference in Gujarat state, the hometown of the great leader Mahatma Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi; highly appreciated the efforts of Gujarat state in maintaining the organization of the event "Vivid Gujarat", thereby contributing to enhancing the role and position of the state in particular and of India in general, as well as affirming Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of India's future development.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the contents discussed at this Conference revolving around the theme "Gateway to the Future" such as green economy, circular economy, digital economy, e-commerce, smart cities, etc.; said that these are also priority areas in Vietnam's development and international integration process; at the same time, shared about Vietnam's long-term strategies and plans in these areas, including the "National Strategy on Green Growth for the 2021-2030 period, vision to 2050" and the goal of raising the proportion of the digital economy to 20% of GDP by 2025 and 30% by 2030.
The Deputy Prime Minister made a number of policy suggestions to encourage the development of the above-mentioned fields, such as creating a policy framework, legal framework and a favorable, stable, transparent and fair investment and business environment; implementing strategies and plans consistently; public investment capital from the Government playing a leading role, encouraging and attracting resources from the private sector and foreign investment; increasing international cooperation, making these fields the main cooperation content and prioritizing more resources to realize them; mobilizing developed countries to support capital, technology transfer, modern techniques, management, human resource training, etc.
The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed his belief that as a fast-growing and dynamic economy, the fifth largest in the world, India can fully play a leading role in this process.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang assessed that the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India are developing strongly in many fields, bringing benefits to the business communities and people of the two countries, and actively contributing to peace, cooperation and sustainable development in the region and the world.
Expressing gratitude for India's support for Vietnam in the fields of human resource training, science and technology development, energy transformation, and digital transformation, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang affirmed that Vietnam wishes to strengthen cooperation with India in general and Gujarat state in particular in areas where India has strengths and is suitable for Vietnam's development priorities, including the areas discussed at this conference; welcoming and ready to create conditions for large Indian corporations to increase investment and long-term cooperation with Vietnam.
