Deputy Prime Minister informs about the progress of the Free Trade Zone project in Hai Phong

(Dan Tri) - The project to build a Free Trade Zone in Hai Phong will be implemented immediately after the preliminary review of the implementation of Resolution 45 of the Politburo and Resolution 35 of the National Assembly on the development of Hai Phong City.
On July 2, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and the National Assembly delegation of Hai Phong City met with voters to report on the results of the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly in An Duong District (Hai Phong) in both direct and online formats. At the meeting, the representative of the Hai Phong City National Assembly delegation informed voters of the results of the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly. Accordingly, the National Assembly reviewed and decided on personnel work under its authority, socio-economic issues, and state budget; passed 11 Laws, 21 Resolutions, and gave initial opinions on 11 other draft laws. The National Assembly conducted questions and answers; conducted supreme supervision on the topic "Implementation of Resolution No. 43/2022/QH15 dated January 11, 2022 of the National Assembly on fiscal and monetary policies to support the Socio-economic Recovery and Development Program and resolutions of the National Assembly on a number of important national projects until the end of 2023". At the above session, the National Assembly reviewed the report on synthesizing voters' and people's recommendations, the report on the results of supervising the settlement of voters' recommendations, and a number of other important contents. Voters in An Duong district are happy, excited, and highly appreciate the activities of the National Assembly. National Assembly deputies are increasingly innovative, promoting democracy, and the quality of sessions is constantly improving. The 7th session of the 15th National Assembly has carried out important contents such as electing the Chairman of the National Assembly and the President; passing and giving opinions on many important Law projects. The question and answer activities at the session went straight to the point, with many solutions and action programs to solve important issues of the country and issues of concern to the people and voters. The country's socio-economy has developed strongly, social security is guaranteed, people's lives are increasingly improved, and our country's prestige and position in the international arena are enhanced. The people absolutely trust in the leadership of the Party and the State. Voters of An Duong district highly appreciated the resolute and effective management of the Government, the Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Ministers. At the meeting, voters also gave some opinions focusing on the following issues: requesting the National Assembly and the Government to soon approve the Projects to prepare the best conditions for organizing Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress. Voters requested the National Assembly and the Government to support the pilot establishment of a Free Trade Zone in Hai Phong; consider perfecting mechanisms and building breakthrough policies; and adding the Key Industry Law Project to the 2024 Law and Ordinance Building Program. In addition, Hai Phong voters also hope to soon approve the Nam Do Son Economic Zone to create new development momentum for the city. In addition, voters also suggested that the National Assembly and the Government consider increasing the rate of regulation from state budget revenue sources and regulating a fixed portion of the revenue from seaport import and export taxes for Hai Phong City to allocate resources for infrastructure investment. Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang congratulated An Duong district on becoming a district. When becoming a district, An Duong will receive more attention and investment, people will enjoy infrastructure, and their lives will be improved. The Deputy Prime Minister said that he will direct ministries and branches to provide maximum support to the locality so that the process of becoming a district-level administrative unit of An Duong district takes place quickly, smoothly, and in accordance with regulations. Regarding voters' recommendations, the Deputy Prime Minister also answered that the approval of the Project to build a Free Trade Zone in Hai Phong will be implemented immediately after the preliminary review of the implementation of Resolution 45 of the Politburo and Resolution 35 of the National Assembly on the development of Hai Phong City. The approval of the Nam Do Son Coastal Economic Zone is under consideration and is likely to be approved next month. The Deputy Prime Minister also believes that Hai Phong can maintain and further promote the city's growth momentum. At the meeting, Mr. Le Tien Chau, Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for his concern for the city, and accepted the instructions, requesting that departments, branches and localities coordinate to resolve the issue. Mr. Chau also thanked the voters for their dedicated and responsible opinions, accepted them and reported to the National Assembly. Regarding the 33 opinions and recommendations of voters of An Duong district in the recent National Assembly session, the ministries, branches and the city have all responded in writing. Mr. Chau requested that An Duong district disseminate these responses to voters.
